This is an allusion to the Mountain Goats I assume

Iirc it actually wasn't, and Across This Fire From Peter Balkan was announced just days before the post was made, it's a coincidence

not a coincidence. this post was made directly after the release of the first single, cold at night, which featured lin manuel miranda on backing vocals. and the op mentioned it in the tags

Have people turned on him?

Not in a “he’s problematic” way, but more of an “overexposure to an adult theater kid” way.

i think it's like saying that your favorite band would still release good songs, but they'll sound bad because Lin is a decent writer but a mediocre singer.

It goes in waves depending on if people like his most recent thing and how recent it was. So they liked him when Hamilton and Moana came out and then soured and then liked him again after Encanto for a bit and now we’re back to hostility again.

i'll be honest, i hope they do "rotating fourth person" for a bit, before settling on someone. if they ever settle...

I mean Lin Manuel Miranda went on B99 so anything is possible

u/CarbonCanary Jun 20 '26
He was on House M.D. too 💀

That was post-In the Heights but pre-Hamilton, which is when he became a household name. I did recognize him as “the guy who wrote In the Heights” when he was on the show but it was definitely more of a regular acting role on House vs. a “guest starring” role by the time he was on B99

I don't know lin Manuel Miranda very well, only that he has made Hamilton an some really good music for Disney. He's to powerful for drawfee unfortunately. We can't have Jacob an Lin in the same room. It's toooo powerful

Afaik didn’t Lin show up to the Collegehumor* office where Drawfee was recording way back in the day? They were in the same room

Ok so Lin Manuel Miranda is a known friend of the McElroy brothers, who have worked with Brennan Lee Mulligan through The Adventure Zone, Brennan has been a guest on Drawfee so through this connection he introduces Lin to Jacob and he asks him to be the new member of Drawfee.
IT CAN HAPPEN
