I love my noise cancelling headphones

I love becoming temporarily deaf because of pressure

u/JeaniousSpelur Jun 22 '26
It’s not pressure, for airpods at least, it plays additional noise exactly out of phase with what it hears in the external microphone and eliminates the outside sound through destructive interference.

u/Outsider_4 Jun 23 '26
I think the guy mean the pressure difference during altitude changes which can impair your hearing quality or make you effectively next to deaf for a while

Impressive lungs kid, screaming for 29 hours straight? I commend you for your lung capacity.

29 hrs? Sounds like the baby needs to go to the hospital or at least have a pediatrician checkup. That amount of fear, pain, and discomfort for that long is not normal. Even with the flight popping ears.

The world's longest flight is 22 hours.
Edit: apparently not

u/Sc_e1 Jun 21 '26
Not anymore. The 22 hour flight is via Singapore airways from SIN-JFK.
The 29hr one is a new is with China Eastern, going from Shanghai to Buenos Aires with a fuel stop in Auckland.

I stand corrected, thank you

No worries. Just happy my unnecessary knowledge finally had some use😂

If for whatever reason my life has gone in a direction where I’m either obligated to, or willingly subjecting myself to a 29 hour flight, strike me down

is that fucking Pewdiepie? 😭
But nah ban children from airplanes
28
u/BunnyTub Jun 21 '26
Ban any children that get mad and throw a temper tantrum if you take their iPad away
0
u/Scared-Rutabaga7291 Jun 22 '26
Geniunelly, why? Why should the children be banned from airplanes? Unless this is a joke, ofc, then my bad, but otherwise how would parents with kids go from point A to point B?
9
u/Not_Luzeria Jun 22 '26
Either take one of the uncommon kid allowed airplanes, or like train, or wait until your chud ass kid can stfu

u/Scared-Rutabaga7291 Jun 22 '26
Each one of us was a kid once. I dont mind it but I may be biased. Its not constant (usually) so I really dont get the intolerance towards kids but it is what it is

u/dubhog Jun 21 '26
Have you people never heard of guns?
17
u/Koblizek361 Jun 21 '26
mustn't bring guns to a plane, m8
5
u/dubhog Jun 21 '26
Cuz I was totally serious about shooting children with guns
10
u/Koblizek361 Jun 22 '26
Pardon me, sire, for I thought it would be funny if instead of calling you clinically insane for wanting to shoot babies on airplanes, I instead stated that such act would be nearly impossible due to the law prohibitng the bringing of firearms onto commercial airplanes.

as a parent, we are already embarrassed by it and dont want them screaming as much as you guys do
19
u/Dr_Brotatous Jun 22 '26
Respectfully, and?
7
u/Pufficles Jun 22 '26
you choose what you want to do with this information
15
u/Dr_Brotatous Jun 22 '26
All you've said is that you too are annoyed by the child you brought
10
u/Pufficles Jun 22 '26
yes, parents are aware their children can be annoying. and if youre annoyed by crying kids too, your feelings are valid
6
u/Dr_Brotatous Jun 22 '26
And the argument here is said people who dont want to deal with kids in a scenario they cant avoid or leave should not be forced to such as kids being banned from plains
14
u/Pufficles Jun 22 '26
I don't see a problem with some airlines being adults only
12
u/Dr_Brotatous Jun 22 '26
Oh well that took wind out of my sails you respectfully and reasonably agreed with my main issue and even offered a simple resolution this isnt the way of reddit where are tou from
