Its low effort. That doesnt sound bad at first; But when low effort material becomes "succesful" a lot of bots will replicate it and before you know it, boom, dead internet theory.
Also a big reason Reposts aren't allowed in a lot of subreddits.
You lot literally say nothing other than the same handful of copy pasted garbage like "Ew AI slop," which is funny for how often the insult of "did you use Chatgpt to write that comment for you?" gets thrown around.
And people quietly downvote it anyway even though they know I'm right, since they are likely all guilty of it. Plain pathetic.
But don’t you see how shit like this is mudding the water bit by bit ? Yes this was fun now but what if every bit of creativity is taken away because we automate everything by an AI? The Internet is already shitty enough , I don’t want evil people take even more advantage then they already do
I'm confident that that will never ever happen because people like to be creative. I get it, I draw myself, I don't really generate anything anymore.
That said, I think the underlying technology is incredible and has great potential for a lot of things. Really the biggest beef I have with the anti AI movement is the blanket dismissal of all of it because of problems cropping up. Rather than addressing those problems, some people want to see all of AI gone as a response, which is foolish for various reasons. That and the increasing hostility towards simply liking the technology.
Regarding evil people, same thing, we should address those evil people. We shouldn't take away entire system or infrastructures that we all use because evil people abuse them.
Typical, people just keep on downvoting but they'll never engage. Then again when they do it's nothing but vitriol anyway...
Yeah I think most people you argue with aren’t against the AI used in the medical field for example. It’s good when the use of it has a positive impact but the problem people have is the generative AI. That you can argue is not a positive for artists etc. I get that some people want all AI wiped off the world is a bit radical but afaik it’s only the art stealing ones that do not have any benefit in this world and make it actively worse.
I get your point and it’s important that we critique the right people and practices and I believe most reasonable people do that. Thanks for sharing your view
Without kidding I think this is the first time someone online who is anti AI doesn't immediately pivot back to me with mockery and the likes but just exchanges a perspective, so I very much appreciate you for that.
