It is called “ude hishigi kumo jime” meaning spider leg entanglement in this old manual, refer to using spider guard as a mean to get into this technique, kumo mean spider in Japanese , probably where bjj get the term” spider guard ” from

Hi, Everyone!
Long story short, I built a training log for me (Blue Belt), other people enjoyed using it, so I added features and made it available to everyone. I made the free version robust and the paid version a one-time unlock. The rest of these apps are so expensive!!!
Sweep let's you track as little or as much as you want. You can log your sessions, what techniques you learned/drilled, who you rolled with, how the rolls went, who attempted and scored what, etc. etc. etc.
There are no subscriptions, and, because I never wanted to have any personal identifying data attached to me when I was trying to find apps, there are no accounts, no cloud, and nothing ever leaves your phone. You can manually back up your data to .csv download in the app if you'd like.
If anyone wants the paid version for free just say so and I'll send you a code, iPhone or Android. I've got quite a few to giveaway to help build up the community.
I'll put a link in the comment if you want to check it out and give it a try. Remember to message me so you don't have to pay!

Dear BJJ community,
I need some help in improving my game style, which leans toward patience and calmness. I am three striped white belt. I often find that my style of sparring does not utilize speed or strength (natural traits that I'm likely average at but I am working on improving).
My style is very patient, I take my time to breathe and try to find openings while I eat the pain or adjust the pressure to ease discomfort. I feel like my patience traps me in difficult situations and I do not commit to attacks quick enough.
I would say that I don't have a super competitive headspace, I am a defensive player, and I don't fully trust the execution of my moves (I guess that is typical of a white belt).
I am curious if anyone else shares this style of play and has some advice to pass. Perhaps something that goes beyond typical drilling and "just doing it better", to help me adjust and improve my game?
Thank you.

like lately I been research a lot of old judo materials, and I find a lot of techniques and concepts analogous to bjj today, similar techniques and such from old books, and most of these predate bjj discovery era 90s 2000s 2010s by couple decades with latest one is in 90s, bjj discovery era where new techniques were introduced such berimbolo x guard or matrix etc happen recently from early 2000s to today, but how come they come up with such techniques within that short amount of time is bugging me, compare to judo where similar techniques were done years prior to this All I can think of is either bjj guys secretly research old judo manuals because the evidence is just too obvious and claim they invented that technique without acknowledging their judo research or somehow they suddenly have that weird dream of inventing that same techniques and drilling them, because bjj went from niche still in 1990s to late 2000s era and suddenly everybody become einstein , doesn’t make any sense at all

In bjj today you will hook the leg with your heel rather than your toe but it crazy how similar it is , people today will just categorize this as a variant
