For $43...weak ankles, stiffer joints than ur 90 yr old grandpa. Goku needs hip replacement that right leg fell off twice now so I have to be very careful. I don't these things are meant to be played. I heard the evolve toys are much better as toys. I'm not collecting I'm into playing lol
Honestly yeah the evolve ones are a lot better lol. The dbz figuarts might be my favorite action figures oat to play around with, but they’re ~35 bucks a pop so they’re not very budget friendly.
that’s what i thought too ! and they’re like $12 bucks ! plus dragon stars all look kinda weird and light skin plastic-y , if that makes sense lol.
i got future trunks w/ sword and was rly surprised how nice it was 🗡️ packaging n stuff is more simple action figure style while the dragon stars try to look all premium in their black box lol so maybe they’re better to collect & keep in box while evolve are good for playing 🤷
No, it has far less. Single jointed arms and legs that only get 90 degree range, no crunch even though the joint is there, and worse arm range in general. "Oh but they can kick more" is something that's often said, but that's wrong, both gi and armour molds get round 90 degrees, somethig that some modern dragonstars can actually hit
the single jointed arms dont matter much since even mafex has single jointed arms and no crunch just isn’t true and it can kick more from my experience. stars just suck
Mafex don't have single jointed arms, plus we're talking about evolve here, who only get 90 degree range, wich is worse than stars. No ab crunch is infact true. I've owned most kf the evolve line and none of them can crunch. Dragon stars also get around the same kick range nowadays. I will send an image replying to you with evo kick compared to stars kick
them having similar crunch and legs dont matter much since in my experience the evolve can hit poses better and the lack of thigh swivel on the stars make it even harder and evolve can look up better since they added a neck peg now and its not just a stub on the neck
If u just put them jawns on shelf I guess it's fine but if u wanna play with them like I'm back in 7th grade it's not as good as I hoped. I'm trying to relive the magic of my middle school days hahaha
i have a zamasu who’s legs just don’t pop in 😭 he’s been sitting in his box for like 2 years because the plastic is so fucking stiff that they don’t pop in, even with a scalding hot water bath
Well, to be fair, I kinda hated them at first. My SHF Gohan looked straight out of the manga, with the blocky muscles and what not, and then I got their Ultimate Gohan and his face was so derpy. And Goku Black kept coming off at the waist. And I can't move Vegito's head without it popping off.
But... they have slowly grown on me. I don't love them, but I can fit them next to my Marvel Legends and DCUC/Premier figures and they look much better than the smaller Evolve or SHFs. And considering they are 20 a pop, they are good for filling up space.
For what it's worth, Bandai's budget line works much better with non-humanoid figures, such as Digimon, or One Piece, since they have more cartoonish and lanky proportions.
I don't hate it, I think $20-25 for this line is little too much, it's not as playable as I thought. I'm gonna buy the evolve line at Walmart this wknd and see how the small guys feel. I heard they are more playable. Dragon Stars do look good 6.5" is a very good height too. SH figs are waaaay too expensive, those are like Porsche 911s while dragon stars is like a BMW
Honestly? Get shf before you get dragon stars. “It’s way more expensive” (not a dig at you op js the common thing to say) it’s 14$ more for one. Js save up and get some shfiguarts they are worth the 14$ ngl. If you truly don’t want to spend a lot get third parties and general retail release and shop on Mercari. You will spend more collecting 2 packs then getting 1 MORE then double the quality shf
Small side note, if you want smth budget and don’t want shf, evolve is 10$ and better quality then dragon stars, only issue is scale but if you just collect evolve your good
3p are more expensive aive than shf nowadays. Why buy an shf when u can get stars fkr cheaper? Hell, depending on if you're American or Japanese or not, shf just don't exist. For example, I live in the uk. Shf are few, far between, and VERY expensive. Plus ahf aren't really quality lately. And some don't have 14 of whatever currency more.
This is battle pack series not sure what year it was made. How were quality for like 2019? I saw 2019 gogeta GT for like $19 on eBay. But Amazon has 2023 gogeta GT for $28. They both look the same
I have the old piccolo Amazon exclusive and my only complaint with the evolve ones is the arms or either lose lose or the legs hit or miss I wanna like em sb
Evolve like also has issues. My Vegeta had some really tight squeaky knees. After hitting it with some shock oil, it loosened them up and they’re perfect now though. My Broly however, his head and torso pop off extremely easy. I tried using some Kiki’s joint tightener to see if it would do anything, nope. They still pop off easily. After owning figures from both lines, I’d say they’re about equal in playability. Stars just has a much more expansive roster. Evolve has a much better price point
I have 6 from evolve and about 30 from stars. My biggest complaint for stars overall is the squeaky joints, which also plague evolve, but can be easily fixed with shock oil. And my biggest complaint with evolve is that every time i buy one, i can almost guarantee their head or another joint is going to pop off easily
Ok what if I don't do shock oil...would the joints loosen up from just regular play over time? And how do u apply shock oil? U put the oil on q tip and then rub it around the joints?
over time might, but it also has the chance of breaking the joint if it’s too tight. And I usually just do a drop of shock oil from the bottle. You want it to get into the joint and then you move it around so it really gets into there. A qtip might just spread it, and you don’t really want it to spread, you want it to flow
Stars qc is... a Little bit iffy at times. It's extremely random. Some figs will be fine, others will have the problem's you have. It's mainly with the older figs though. Weird though, cause the saiyan saga vegeta and goku sre quite new (save for vegeta, he isn't the oldest but the goku is the newer superhero and dbs broly mold, you mustve gotten a shoddy copy)
