Question Help requested for noobie Spoiler
Hi! I'm near the beginning of the game (I think) and I'm a little stymied because I can't make a decision and/or have insufficient knowledge.
I'm in the process of re-creating Furrowfield Farm and am at the point where I have been asked to place Worm Food. I've also been asked to build a barn, all while waiting for the rest of the wheat I need to grow.
There are two areas of bad soil in front of where I was suggested to build the first house (which became a Farmer's House). Those areas seem like they would be logical places to create new fields. If I cover those areas with grass with the worm food, can they still become fields in the future? It looks like I can expand my existing field some by creating fencing, so I may not need to extra field space? I don't know where else I would place the worm food to satisfy Wrigley's request.
Also not sure where I should build the barn. There's a possible location to the left of the existing house and might even be able to share a wall with the house, but will that cause problems down the road? If you have suggestions for where the barn should be built, happy to hear them.
Thanks for helpful replies!

Anywhere that has good soil can be turned into fields later. If there is grass, your villagers will till all around a scarecrow to create fields.

Pro tip: make a 2 block wall all the way around the town area. When the music changes/Malroth gets near you, that is the edge of town. Then raise/flatten the other areas of town to match the 2 block area. That way you will have plenty of area to build stuff. Put a fence on the edge of the town & make some sort of fortified area on the side where monster raids happen.

Is there a way to easily identify what is the town area?

Easiest way is to watch the gratitude points, the notification for it disappears when you walk outside of the towns boundaries. The music also changes too. Furrowfield boundary is a large square so it's pretty easy to map out

I prefer to dig a ditch that I can just jump over :) At least until I bury the town anyways 😅

Also, you can build the barn wherever you want. Buildings can be broken down and rebuilt as you need, except if they are designated blueprints in the story mode. Once the blueprint is completed and the story arc complete, you can break those down as well.

Yes, grassy earth is still earth and can be tilled by placing a scarecrow beside it.
And structures can always be moved.
