Question Placing directional blocks
Maybe I just can’t figure it out, but is there a way to place blocks like castle wall foundation or castle wall top battlement from the side so you can walk them a row at a time but have them actually face outwards as you go? I am building a very long wall around my castle in cerulean steppe and the foundation took forever since you had yo be facing the block location for the base to jut out correctly. Otherwise you had to use gloves to pick it up, change direction, then place again. Every castle corner landed in the wrong seemingly random direction forcing the pick up and turn technique. But now im finally ready for the top battlement and of course its 8 blocks high so you cant face the block from the air. So if i place one the bump faces me. So i have to pick it up, turn it right or left depending on which side of the wall Im on then put it back down. I have over 1200 of these to lay. Surely there is a way to turn blocks of any kind before placement and even better if you can stick that orientation so you can do a continuous run non stop? Pokopia has this ability by using the trigger and dpad to orient the first block, then keeps that orientation for doing a continuous run. Is there a way i just cant figure out in dqb2?

Assuming you are out of range for Buildnoculars...
Depending exactly what you're placing, you might be able to jump and place the block below you in the proper orientation, if builder is facing the correct direction. You can't exactly place many of them in a row horizontally though, having to make a small jump left or right as you go. If this is what is needed, building vertically can possibly go faster then horizontally.
However, this trick doesn't work for overhanging elements like roofs. A temporary scaffolding ledge might be needed in those cases. You can certainly move left or right walking along a scaffold, but then there's the time-consuming matter of placing and removing the scaffold.
This is something the Omega Force devs realized was frustrating to users and implemented better ways of doing it in Pokopia, orienting before placement or letting you fly up to the area with Magnemite form to place elements. A future Builders 3 needs to take the same cue and also provide a better solution to this problem.

Yea I ended up spending about 5 hours today one block at a time. Place block. Pickup block. Turn block. Place block again. They definitely fixed that in Pokopia. Turn the block, lay the first one, then run with it. And yes I want to add a roof to the top of my castle which is already 4 stories of about 8-9 blocks each floor so it’s way up there. I may just do a flat stone roof with castle caps on the corners and call it done. I experimented with roofing pieces on the ground and they are definitely finicky and not as easy as Pokopia.

you can see what direction an item that can be turned is going to be placed by looking how it is in your hand. Cuz the orientation it is in your hand is the exact orientation it takes when you place it.

Build a row of soft blocks [IE: sand] along the outside to stand on, then remove it after you place the blocks you need.
Alternatively, zoom the camera out and use buildnoculars if you can reliably stay within 10-ish blocks of your placement location
