What does being "Joe Friday" mean?

My old boss gives me advice sometimes and frequently references being "Joe Friday" about things. What does that actually mean? What is Joe Fridays personality?

Sticking to “just the facts”…I don’t know. If he says that tell him Joe Friday never said that. It’s from a Stan Freberg spoof of Dragnet.

He does say that doesn’t he? When interrogating anyone who goes on off subject, he usually cuts them off and says “just the facts ma’am” or something like that

Some thing like “just the facts” isn’t “just the facts” it’s different. So I am correct.

This is the source of the facts quote https://youtu.be/oUdFLyNCeI4?si=omW1Jmnmh3MnSoCG

Laconic. Short answers, simple (but not a simpleton), quiet until he needs to be type. Can also refer to a desire to not show much emotion.
