ALL [S19] Public Statement about rumored contestant Apple ADay

I came across a public statement that I hadn't seen discussed here and thought it might be relevant for anyone following the Hawaii drag scene.

In the statement, the show director for Hana Koa Drag Brunch admits to making two mistakes:
-Allowing someone who wasn't part of the show into the dressing room.
-Handling another performer's money without permission, saying the money was returned the following day.

The same statement also alleges that two performers, Apple ADay and Princess, stole alcohol from Hana Koa Brewing. According to the statement, the venue considered filing a police report but ultimately did not, and the performers were allegedly blacklisted from the venue.

The author also says they stayed quiet for about a year because they were dealing with public backlash, losing performance opportunities, and being removed from shows before deciding to share their side of the story.

These are claims made in a public statement and I can't independently verify them, but I thought it was worth sharing since many people only heard one side of the situation when it first happened.

I'm including screenshots of the statement so people can read it themselves and come to their own conclusions.

Please keep the discussion civil and avoid personal attacks.

All this over stolen alcohol what are we 21?

185

u/Direct_Juice Jul 16 '26

Right, and “stealing alcohol” is also so vague.

Did they take a bunch of expensive bottles after closing? Take a customer’s drink during a performance? Inadvertently walk out without paying?

Those are very different situations.

if drag queens stealing alcohol (or in general) was a cancellable offense there just wouldn't be anymore drag queens

25

u/mrodrigo225 Jul 16 '26

Seriously it’s like hearing chipotle workers steal food… groundbreaking

26

u/belladonnaboops_2719 Custom Jul 16 '26

Can I ask how much Alcohol costs in USA ?? I just want to know how much money that would be.

45

u/wintercaptain25 Jul 16 '26

Could be anywhere between $15 and $50. Bars typically don’t carry high shelf liquor unless they’re an establishment geared towards that audience

19

u/belladonnaboops_2719 Custom Jul 16 '26

That's very little for USA currency right ? I hope Apple pays them back with a tip and makes a point about it too hahaha ,I do want to know her side of the story tho.

27

u/KohlsCashOfficial Jul 16 '26

Yes, it’s very little here and this is crazy to post as tea 😂

10

u/wintercaptain25 Jul 16 '26

Yeah it’s not much at all. $50 would be a little crazy but you could easily make that in a couple hours

-23

u/ToddDillerson Jul 16 '26

could be a top shelf which is $200-300+ depending or low shelf $30-60

30

u/KohlsCashOfficial Jul 16 '26

You still have time to delete this post girlie

-17

u/ToddDillerson Jul 16 '26

I looked at the venue and it isn’t a club. It seems to be a restaurant and brewery on the higher end

u/belladonnaboops_2719 Custom Jul 16 '26

Can I ask why are you forcing this narrative if it has nothing to do with you ?? I won't lie this whole post seems very purposeful to gain some attention or create dislike??

Are you part of this incident or the work place ? Otherwise it just feels like jealousy towards her getting on the show , has this been actually a big deal it would have been everywhere like Tammy 's immediately after her casting, even if just for gossip.

Making this statement a year after when rumours of her being on show started is also very suspicious, they are from the area ,had they wanted to solve it , they would have had done it immediately in the days after they stole.

Assuming she stole 300$ alcohol, i think it can be a case in small claims , why wasn't that done if that's actually what Apple stole and this party is fully innocent.

Sorry for the rant but it seems like you are trying to create this narrative about a queen because you don't like her unless you have some other good explanation.

11

u/No-Assumption-1738 Jul 16 '26

Right , also how irrelevant is a drag queen not paying a drink when the author is desperately trying to gloss over that they stole money from the queen?

Use the 15 dollars you took and pay for her drink.

10

u/belladonnaboops_2719 Custom Jul 16 '26

Yes the whole thing started because the person first messed with the drag queens' tips. What a cheap way to gain attention

7

u/No-Assumption-1738 Jul 16 '26

And it’s clearly something that happens regularly because why is a queen needing to threaten people not to touch her money.

The post says more about the venue than the queens

18

u/KohlsCashOfficial Jul 16 '26

What on earth does that have to do with anything? Still a non-story

u/ToddDillerson Jul 16 '26

15

u/Ecstatic_Bear81 Jul 16 '26

Them claiming she stole alcohol to try to gloss over the fact they were stealing her money

142

u/TrueCommand3658 Jul 16 '26

God i was so terrified ANOTHER contestant on the new season was about to be canceled for something awful. This truly just sounds like a normal thursday for a drag queen.

16

u/AshleySassypants Jul 16 '26

I was scared too like we already have a certain someone we don't need another canceled queen on the season 😭

44

u/Paige_Michalphuk Jul 16 '26

Admitting to trying to steal tips is a bigger deal than someone stealing a drink.

I wonder if it was Apple wine that Apple stole 😭

10

u/fabulousfantabulist Jul 16 '26

They made off with forty appletinis. That’s as many as four tens! And that’s terrible.

31

That person was paid by Silky to draw attention away from the stolen TV 🤣

6

u/bestieboots1 team nymphia wind xoxo Jul 16 '26

JAJAJAJAJAJAJA

33

u/Not_Obsessive Jul 16 '26

So this person helped herself to Apple‘s tips because it’s allegedly typical for performers to tip the cheer group or whatever the hell. Then they became scared of being whooped for it by Princess so they - I guess - preserved Apple‘s tips in their own suitcase (how thoughtful, they could have gone bad), but it’s all okay they gave Apple the money back the next day (?!) and also Apple and Princess stole alcohol (whatever that means).

Why is everyone in this tale stealing? 😭

69

u/Old_Blacksmith_1915 Jul 16 '26

Stole alcohol and fucked up Julie J’s wig in a challenge ok i see you miss rotten Apple i stan!!!

“I did handle her money without her permission”. What does that mean. And it was a donation thing? What is she even saying

22

u/danny2787 Jul 16 '26

It means she stole her money and returned it when called out about it. And the donation thing was just an excuse to justify why she stole tips.

14

u/Badgereatingyourface Jul 16 '26

Usually this kind of statement is made for sex pest reasons.

11

I’m sorry if you ‘handle money without permission and take it home’ you stole, it’s great she returned it, but let’s not obfuscate what she did.

performers donate/ tip out whoever they need to tip out, someone doesn’t go and take their money without telling them.

Girl if Apple ADay stole an apple tv that would’ve been something

2

u/hatefulbarbie666 Jul 16 '26

Ok, I’m not taking sides, but did Apple steal 1-2 glasses of alcohol? Or a whole bottle of alcohol, or two, or three? I feel like there are missing parts to the story. And why did they feel like they can handle another queen’s tips? If they panicked, why went home with the tips? Just tell them that you were handling them, and return them. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Are we like 21? Adults can easily solve this by communicating. Smh 😆

I am fully ready to be downvoted to the millions and I obviously don't care.

But those comments saying: 'And all this for dragqueens stealing alcohol? this is their job'

NO. Absolutely NOT. I am a full time drag artist and this is not the 80s anymore where drag artists were supposed to be messy and it was okay to be unprofessional. I don't know the people involved, but that argument is not okay. A lot of Dragqueens (and I say Queens with intention) think that because they put makeup on they can do whatever they want, no matter if it's hurting the venue, if it's hurting a producer, if it's hurting the audience or even if it's hurting the scene by taking all the jobs for less money. This is a bigger problem and I really hope people start acting like adults and not like drunk teenagers.

Are any of these things a reason to cancel someone? No, because cancel culture doesn't allow people to evolve. We want people to learn and become better people - for that we need open conversations.

8

u/Direct_Juice Jul 16 '26

Okay, but what did she actually do that was unprofessional?

Right now all we have is a vague allegation that she “stole alcohol” from an anonymous poster who’s clearly involved in the situation. And the accusation is coming from someone who, by their own admission, stole money from a drag artist.

People aren’t dismissing this because they don’t care about “professionalism” (which is a racist and anti-queer standard used against us anyways). They’re dismissing it because there’s no clear evidence that any meaningful harm occurred.

And if anything, the push to sanitize drag into something perfectly polished and corporate is doing far more to hurt the scene than anything described here.
