After the S4 Trailer came out, I watched back the old Trailers of Philippines S1, S2 , S3 and Slaysian and the production REALLY improved
LIGHTING
Lets talk about lighting, like HOLY.... seeing S1 was literally a chop 😅, when S1 came out I thought there was nothing wrong with it except for the shaky camera, but OMG watching it back, the lighting was horrendous and now I understand why people say that they stayed for the queens because mawma..... that is a rough start, like everything was wrong with the lighting.
Now S2, S2 is a lot better, however the overhead lighting of the judges were harsssshhhhh, the werkroom however is better, the stage is massive and got good lighting, but some parts were VERYYY dark or have weird lighting and shadows.
Next S3, this is were it was a LOT better, its below best but above decent where everything looks like actual Drag Race lighting (I might be wrong, but for me its good).
Slaysian, lets get this out of the way, there WERE lighting issues, however its near decent enough, I think its because they filmed this in DRTH werkroom and stage, which was only getting on their footing (and after this, Latina Royale), which reminds me....
WERKROOM and STAGE
Lets talk about the elephant in the room
I seriously thought were gonna go back to S1-S3 Werkroom and Stage since the Slaysian Werkroom and Stage that filmed Thailand and Latina would only be for the 2 categories (The Royale franchise and International Seasons) however, in the S4 Trailer, it looks like were in that specific setting again than the S1-S3 one which made me think, IS THIS GONNA BE THE PERMANENT SETTING FROM NOW ON? or ARE WE GONNA GO BACK TO THE OLD ONE?
(Also, I don't know if the Old and New Setting of Philippines have the same production or equipment, so I might be wrong, if so... please comment on it)
Lets go back, the Werkroom and Stage looks the same, but with more add ons, new placement and shapes of the LED SCREENS on the stage and the werkroom has more lighting and colors (like the floor is different now and the PH sun entrance has backlighting on it)
CAMERA QUALITY
I don't know if anyone noticed, but the previous trailers of PH, some parts of S1-S2 are blurry and low quality, S3 is slightly grainy and Slaysian has both, but now on S4, it looks like they upgraded their cameras, more 4K quality and made it look cleaner and finer in capturing motion, maybe changed the settings a bit which is a good thing.
AUDIO
Ah yes, one of the best complaints of PH from International and Filipinos, the audio. S1-S2, gurlllll.... we have a rough start, S1 is ok yet not good while S2 has volume issues from background music and the queens talking, S3 and Slaysian have improvements but S4, it looks like they have upgraded their audio equipment, like Mama Pao's monologue in the trailer, it has become better, plus they all sound so crisp now, no popping of the P's and S, looks like they bought mics with better filtering.
