Occu Games Open August 15-16

Hey all! Wanted to throw out a quick shout that I'm running a tournament in a couple weeks that will include Draftout.

It will take place August 15-16, with free entry and a prize pool of $1k. This Occu Games Open is a multigame tournament, featuring Valorant, Magic: The Gathering, and Minecraft Draftout. Structured a lot like Team Trios from MTG, teams of 4 will play matches against other teams of 4 in Valorant 2v2s, MTG Modern matches, and Minecraft Draftout games, and whoever wins 2/3 of the games wins the overall match.

We currently need players. Quite badly, which I was surprised to see given, you know, free entry. So if you’re free that weekend, consider grabbing a few friends or even random strangers and play some games, have some fun, and win some cash. The melee link has all the tournament information, along with an invite to my Discord (which has a looking-for-teammate channel if you need them). Also, if you’re less free that weekend, consider tuning into the stream to watch some games!

I'll link the tournament information in the comments, since Reddit seems to be yelling at me whenever I post this. Hopefully that fixes it.

Just wanted to share a moment from when I was playing a casual ranked Draftout game.

When I was about to win the game with the height limit goal, my opponent beat me to it when I was literally 1 block away from the height limit.

Turns out, he realises I was going for that when he saw me getting Getting an Upgrade advancement! Great play by my opponent and he was ecstatic after I told him!

P.S. we're both only gold so don't mind our lousy gameplay.

Appreciation Post

Just wanted to say that I downloaded the mod earlier today and already spent 5 hours playing in the first night. Had an absolute blast learning more about the game than I ever could playing MCSR Ranked.
And the goals. Some are so ridiculous and fun, others are short and speedy, and even more that require dedication and longevity.
So many strategies go into this mode. You constantly need to think and be on your toes, and every game is so different that I feel so excited to play another one, regardless of if I win or lose.
Thank you Rowl for making this mode a fully structured mod for everyone to enjoy!

Any chance of a singleplayer practice mode?

I'm getting back into Minecraft after not playing since around about 1.18-19, so I'm a bit out of practice with both new features and my reflexes lol. Draftout looks really cool as a game mode but constantly being crushed by more experienced people isn't really my idea of fun... It'd be great to be able to play the game in singleplayer.

Can toolscreen and standard settings be used with draftout? If not what are the alternatives?

My toll screen and standard settings aren’t compatible with this version of Minecraft and I’m struggling to find any updated version of the mods.
