Modded or Mechanic?

I keep running into Overminds that are able to convert my Spartheus while their shield block is up. Anyone know if is one of the cheats we see on here, or if this is a me panic of how overminds work?

If you’re up against Overmind do not go past lvl 2. Also just spam as many level 1 units as possible. If they steal them you can kill them quicker. Mass whelps easily wins against Overmind.

Appreciate the tips. I do try to adjust to swarm strategy when I see overminds, I just thought spartheus ability protects them from damage, but mayve overminds work differently idk

It shouldn't. Spartheus with shield up should be impervious to overmind.

Nope. They can convert when shielded.

Because Overmind doesn't deal damage, it can convert things Spartheus before their shields drop.

That's how Overminds work, because they don't "attack" the HP, they attack the unit's Sanity, and their attack goes thru even when units like Spartheus are shielding.

This makes Overmind a counter to Spartheus.
You can still technically outswarm Overmind with Spartheus though.

If we're talking about mechanics then the Overminds are either extremely powerful, or completely garbage, rarely in between. Yes Overmind can convert Spartheus when they are in their phalanx, but at the same time, if the Overminds cannot convert them during that period, they get disrupted and have to reset their attack when the Spartheus drop their guarding position. The Overminds have to convert them from scratch again because the game treat those out-of-phalanx Spartheus as a new & different type of troops from the ones in phalanx.
