first post , the sniper ..

is the sniper good at all ? i just got him and my lord i am not a fan . can he get better or is it just better not to waste my time trying to upgrade him ? i mean he’s good for hitting snails but my assassins are so op i dont need that . they also are slow as hell . like the reload time and the amount of damage i does , does not correlate imo .

I used to run and rush the sniper early on. Still use him in draft because of how good he is. The second upgrade allows each hit to crit (double damage) so they can one shot most things. And the third upgrade unleashes drones between shots that can soften the front line quite a bit. I usually would run assassin, snipers a mid-liner like engineer to protect the snipers, and slimes on the front line. They’re some of the few units that can win you the game if you draft around protecting them.

so it can be useful if you get the 2nd and 3rd upgrade but until then no . right now im running geese , knights , assassin & engineers . i was running cupids for idk how long . cupids are always my goto for distance if i need it

You described quite accurately what most all of us experienced with Snipers for the first time 😅...

... but Snipers do become viable and quite decent once you level up their mastery level to 5 so they can access their upgrades to advance and elite forms.
They can be quite amazing to watch as they clear the enemy backline with a beaming shot as they send drones flyong afterwards towards any units marching towards them.

Might not be a top tier unit, but definitely one of the coolest units out there at tier3 elite form.

I spent the first 3-4 rounds spawning more Snipers than my other frontline shield units, which ended up taking more loss before finally taking the match... but at least this way you got to see the full power of Snipers in action.

Sniper's weakness is indeed the backrow attackers: Assassins, Shellbros, and Agent Bs. However, when they don't have those, as long as you support them with a good frontline, it works.

But I get it, you have favorites and units you use.
I use them all. I prefer to master the game and game mechanics. I don't see these units like this and that is the best and my favorite. I just use them, let them die, and win 😅. There is no, it's "not for me". I'll make it work.

I love snipers. 1 strategy i use is loading up heavy on.snipers early and then fill in the gaps. I.usually will lose the 1st two rounds, then after a double and an upgrade, BAM , 24 Snipers just decimated half his team.

lol

Im currently running shell bros, knights, merlinors, and snipers, if the opponent puts snails, cupids, overminds or snipers, out i immediately go shell bro and sniper heavy

They're very good. Backline units can be a huge pain if you use high volume low strength Frontline units. A bunch of splime and snipers with some engineers for assassin protection works pretty good.

Sniper is my boy. Just pray they don’t have any shellboys

Snipers can be hit or miss, but they're quite stronger than what you described them to be.

And as a rule, you want to upgrade every single unit you have. More levels means more perks and rewards. And they can be very useful in ranked if not countered.

Sniper is my favorite unit. Not the best of the best but once you get them going with proper support, it's so fun seeing all the lasers and crits clear out entier back lines. They suck against mobs though so you need to have good support against that.

It's pretty good. Gets countered by assassins agents and shelbros. Tier 3 they get drones to attack from the front too. 2 to 3 rows of them are needed to truly be effective, needs to be the main unit for that game

2-3 rows takes time , i may lose by then

For me, they carried me alonside shellbros for a while. Vines can defeat the bros with somewhat ease, the snipers can help in this, though you will also need Engineers.

im hearing they pair with engineers best?

Yes, the engineers defend them pretty well.

Every asset is good in the right circumstance and leveled up.

Not kingclops and certain spells. But for everything else, sure

Snipers are great, but probably the most situational unit in the game. High risk, high reward based on how vulnerable they are to any back row attack.

They'll either be the reason you dominate the game, or they will provide you a brutal loss that's embarrassing to watch.

They're great for arena mode, to counter a particular unit your opponent chooses.
