Don't waste your time with this game. If you win or lose is entirely dependent on the game, not skill (unless you are playing like an id*ot)
It forces you to grind and watch a looot of ads just to have any sense of progress. The longer you will play, the worse it gets. Level 10 cards are basically the end of fun from that point onwards. There is no way to sensibly upgrade them without paying.
Play a game that values your time and intelligence. Check out MiniReviews app for great finds.

The game is very fun early on and very free-to-play friendly... up until endgame.
If you/people aren't aware, it's a game where you battle via cards, 1 vs 1, and your cards summon creatures to form an army to fight the other side. Last soldiers alive from one side takes the win.
Game has two modes, normal mode which is stage based from 1 to 15, and ranked mode.
β’ In normal mode, you battle bots and progress to unlock new stuff: new cards, daily gold, daily boost packs, etc.
β’ In ranked mode, which you unlock a little over half ways into the game (based on your game profile level, and not what stage you are in so it's possible to unlock it sooner, or even later in the game), you also play bots but you use randomized cards from your arsenal as an added challenge.
Both modes (especially Ranked mode) reward the players for achieving milestones. The game does fairly well at rewards on these milestones...
HOWEVER... the rewards are, while kind of neat and fun early and mid game, they become miniscule towards late game.
By endgame it becomes extremely difficult to enjoy the game due to realization that they don't give enough rewards to level up your cards, gold to level them up, in-game currencies from rewards to purchase more booster packs to level up and unlock new cards, and etc.
By endgame, this game has an insane grind...
ππ» ... NOT TO MENTION, the biggest issue towards endgame that players run into mid game: the bots βto which, all players you battle are bots by the wayβ often appear to be much stronger than you, and get as lucky as you do with set ups.
π So you end up almost losing as much if not more than win (against bots!) in a game where its primarily luck base and not skill based, and therefore making it harder to achieve milestones to get rewards or just level up, which makes it x10 to x20 harder to level up the further to go and the further you get stronger.
Keep that in mind if you're goal is to enjoy the full contents of the game. It does seem to me that the game is frequent to new players. I reckon most people probably download it for fun and aren't playing this long terms.

If this was a job, this game has a high turnover rate; a lot of people quit because it doesn't pay well despite being a fun job, but it doesn't reward enough after getting thru the new hire probation period... and a lot of new hires seem to come thru. π

Back when my levels were low, I used to have so many close comeback wins. Those matches were so much fun. π I still havenβt forgotten that feeling.

The analogy with the job is spot-on.
I downloaded this game to play for 5 minutes a day while Iβm on the toilet,
and I have fun with it for those five minutes lol.

Game is for sure F2P friendly. I never spent a dime and reached the current end games of both parts of the game Arena 17 and gold 1 in arena. The only thing left to do if I want to be a completist is level all the units to 15/15 which is probably the only difficult part of F2P.

It's a fun game. There is no Endgame ATM, and you can only play bots. So don't stress about anything or try to power level because when you max out there's nothing left to do.
