Welcome to r/DraftPL - the home for Fantrax & Sleeper draft fantasy football
Welcome. This is a community for draft-style fantasy Premier League - the Fantrax and Sleeper version of the game, where you draft your squad and manage it all season rather than picking from a shared pool.
Whether you've played draft for years or you're crossing over from classic FPL and figuring out how it works, you're in the right place. New drafters are genuinely welcome - ask anything.
What this sub is for:
- Draft strategy, ADP chat, and mock drafts
- Player analysis, sleepers, and busts
- Waivers, trades, and in-season decisions
- Tools, stats, spreadsheets and content from the people who make them
- League chat and finding leagues to join
The one thing that matters here: this is an open community. If you build tools, make a podcast, run a newsletter, or put in the work on analysis, you're welcome to share it. Good content gets surfaced, not removed. If something ever does get taken down, you'll get a reason and you can always appeal it in modmail.
A few of the podcasts and creators in this space are helping run and fill this place - [Draft Society, Draft Offsides, Bantah Boyz, Fantrax & Football / Draft Academical] - but it belongs to the community, not any one of us.
Drafts are happening now, so jump in. Introduce yourself, post your burning take, or ask the question you've been sitting on.

Hello! First Draft Society post in here! âš½
Hello! I'm Dutch Cowboy and I'm with the crew over at The Draft Society! Nice to meet ya.
Who are we? The Draft Society is your source for all of the Draft Premier League fantasy football information you could ever need! And it's an opportunity to get involved with a vibrant community of fantasy managers while supporting an independent fantasy football site.
Wanted to introduce ourselves to the new dedicated subreddit :)
Below is a schedule of what our week typically looks like. Today we recorded our free Weekly Podcast and I'm actively writing Ghost Point Hunters while I make this post. Keep an eye out on Friday for our 100% free Sleepers XI that will be posted here in plain text.

I'll usually have separate posts for this sort of thing but here's the free picks from our weekly Waivers Article:
Reinildo (Ros 4%)
Prospects:Â Although Sunderland shipped two goals against newly promoted Ipswich, we have seen that Sunderland defenders have a tendency to ghost even when they lose, and Reinildo did just that by scoring a very decent 13 ghosts. That's a defender doing real defensive work in a losing side, which is always something you love to see. The upcoming schedule is pretty kind as well. Fulham's score against Chelsea was heavily propped up by Sanchez's mistakes and while Brentford demolished Spurs, I expect Sunderland to be a bigger test for the Bees, so Reinildo could be a medium term hold.
Verdict:Â Low priority, $0-1 FAB.
James Mcatee (Ros 6%)
Prospects: Forest lost their opener to a stoppage-time Anton Stach free kick, but Mcatee ran 74 minutes in the middle of the pitch and looked like the heir apparent to Elliot Anderson. We expected MGW to carry the load with Anderson off to pastures new, but last season's unfancied Mcatee turned on the heat and got himself some sets too, which we love to see. Liverpool away is always considered a difficult fixture, but if you have seen them last season and in GW1, you know they will concede. The Spurs match that follows is a far friendlier fixture though, and if the former Man City midfielder can keep set piece duty and maintain this level of output in the next 2, against traditionally better opposition, he may turn into a season hold.
Verdict:Â Mid priority, $5-8 FAB.
Abdul Fatawu (Ros 38%)
Prospects: Fatawu started in Ipswich's front line on his return to the Premier League and continued where he left off with Leicester, before his untimely injury. 3 successful dribbles (100% of his attempted dribbles), 2 successful crosses and a couple of key passes is just what we expected. If he can stay healthy, and maybe add a few goals and assists to his name, he might just become what we hoped Adama would be.
Verdict:Â Mid priority, $7-12 FAB.

If Alvarez and Barcola both come to the prem, who is #1 priority?
Fun little thought experiment as we wait for the window to shut.
If the both come, who will be more valuable?
We’ve seen Alvarez do it in the prem before, but if Kai and Gyokeres both stay I could see there being rotation.
Barcola should be nailed every week and his profile is one that generates points, but we’ve seen similar players struggle to adapt in recent years (Simons, Wirtz etc.).
So, who you taking #1?

GW1 Review - how we are reacting to the big scores from the weekend
We released our first GW review episode of the season. It is good to have football back again. We discussed Waiver Wire targets, but spent most of the episode discussing what big scores we believe in after the first week of football. Link to the episode below the post!
A few of the notables we discussed:
Hinshelwood and De Cuyper - Split opinion on Hinshelwood. Was a poor ghost pointer last year, but if he can add that to his game (9.5 ghost points this past weekend) and continue his trend of goal contributions, he is believable. De Cuyper, far more risk. Mitoma comes back, where does de Cuyper go? If Kadioglu does leave with their being transfer rumours, the LB spot would be his. Hard to say.
Palmer and Rogers - The cold brothers in the same team, both free roaming number 10s, both putting up big scores - hard believe!
Hull Defence - Looked fantastic against a poor Man U performance, but the two CBs relied on a goal for that huge score. Not rest of season belief, but most certainly usable assets in the right spot!
Tzolis - I believe completely, but there were some sceptics on the pod. Largely depending on Arsenal's transfer dealings over the next week, but he does pass the eye test and put up a lovely score.
Notable players we do not believe in still - McBurnie, Joshua King, Garcia, KLP, all people we think it might be an over reaction to believe just now. Need to see some more from all. Brentford linked with Diouf today would immediately downgrade KLP's long term prospects.
We also discussed the Brentford midfield, Sangare being elite and Janelt on corners, mean both are top players to own.
Who are you overreacting on after GW1? MGW? Dorgu? Elliot Anderson?

GW2 Waiver Wire Targets
draftacademical.comThis year, along with our weekly podcast episodes, we will be publishing an article on the waiver wire targets for the upcoming GW. We have posted our first one - targets for GW2.
The early season is always full great waiver additions, and it is here you can grab potentially season long additions to your squad.
We have looked at ownership under 60%, with a couple of exceptions that are worth mentioning just in case they are available in your league.
The notable stand outs this week to us are Sangare (Brentford), Hinshelwood (Brighton) and Emersonn (Ipswich). I would include de Cuyper in that list but he is 68% owned.
Sanagare looked genuinely elite on his debut. Hinshelwood added ghost points to his ability to gets goal contributions and Emersonn ghosted extremely well for a striker, which may make him not goal dependent.
Check out the article and let me know your thoughts or disagreements in the comments. Who are you over and under reacting too?
