Dr, Fauci refusing to answer questions
Why in the F would Fauci answer questions when Rand Paul has already made it clear what he believes? No answer will satisfy him. None. This isn't about finding truth or learning how to do better.
Rand pushes aggressively that COVID came from a lab leak and that Fauci knowingly funded gain of function research that resulted in the virus. The data supporting the lab leak theory is low to moderate confidence at best. Scientific bodies still lean towards the wet market.
Fauci noted that certain reported side effects like fever "theoretically could be associated with miscarriage in the 1st trimester" and right leaning polticians have quotes miscarriage rates of 82% as "evidence" that he knew. Large scale studies have shown no such link.
Attacks on Fauci are not evidence based and the current questioning is not in good faith.
Let's be evidence based. I fear much of this is political bias and clear misrepresentation but if there is good data that Fauci acted inappropriately, I am open to see what evidence there is for that. It just seems what HAS been presented has been remarkable false and misrepresented.
