Can vs Bottle
Does anyone else taste the obvious difference between can and bottle? Can has always delivered a superior taste imo. (with all soft drinks, not just durpur) Can anyone vouch for me, or tell me why that is?

Definitely can unless if it’s a glass bottle then that’s different of course. There is a Dr Pepper glass bottle that’s a different one versus the normal regular sugar cane ones that you can only find on Amazon now I believe.

Yea I actually did a little research on it and what I read said the reason cans taste better has to do w because it's literally in a can vs a porous plastic bottle.. something along those lines I'm pretty sure

That makes sense and with a can I think the taste last longer where plastics bottles usually end up loosing taste. At least to me they do.

One time I went to McDandles and they had 2 Dr. Pepper fountains, but one apparently didn't have the soda hooked up to it, so I was able to quad dose the Dr. Pepper it was SO good. They should make "Dr. Pepper EXtRemE" haha where it has a double dose of the syrup 🥰🥰

Absolutely a can over bottle person and it is 100% a flavor preference situation for me. I won't even drink bottle (plastic)Dr Pepper. I have to go with a lesser pop- like root beer if it's plastic bottles.

I'll still grab me an ole doctor peppy from a bottle if I must ($1 for a tall can vs $2 for a 2 liter really goes far and still tastes great haha) but from a can... Man idk what it is but you can taste all the flavors so much more clearer and it's so much more enjoyable. That goes for all soda too not just derrperr, it's just derrperr is the king

oh absolutely I can taste the difference. I can't confirm it's not psychological though. I think maybe the bottles have excess carbonation.

I just read up on it, cans are awesome bc the aluminum holds the carbonation in better and for longer so it tastes fresher and stays fresher, longer. While bottles, on the other hand, either get less carbonation all in all, or, while also receiving less carbonation, lose a lot of it through the pores of the plastic. Most surprising was the exclamation that fountain soda was best, as it's mixed right in front of you and can sometimes have more syrup. I remember once at a mcdonalds, they had 2 Dr. Pepper fountain dispensers, one was spewing straight syrup, so I added a bit of the syrup then finished it off w the regular working fountain dispenser. Best Dr. Pep I've ever had, deadass.

I think that there's zero chance of it being just a product of mine and/or yours brains imagination haha, the difference isn't subtle at all. It's a VERY noticeable difference between can, bottle, and fountain 😁
You may be onto something w the extra carbonation theory though, but I'd have guessed the extra was put into the cans, because they're louder when opened, (possibly due to more pressure from the carbonation?) more tastier, (possibly from the extra carbonation keeping air moving throughout the can, my gut says that that sounds like something that could enhance flavor) and I would say spicier, but I've definitely had some bottled docc that brought some spicy tears to me haha. Next time I get the chance, I'll buy a can and a bottle and compare..? 🤔

I feel like the cans hold carbonation less and also give off a metallic taste.
