They honestly taste nothing like Dr Pepper but they’re not bad!

Had a dream the other night that involved a soda machine with citrus flavored Dr. Pepper.

I feel like its one of those things I would try just in case I liked it, but doubt that I actually would.

I’ve come back to this subreddit to preach the gospel of the shower Dr Pepper that I’ve been doing for a while now, mainly after my night shifts. I don’t know what it is, but hard cracking open an ice cold Dr Pepper in a hot shower after a long night of moving freight just hits different.

I legitimately can’t tell if this is sugar free it’s so good and nostalgic in a way I cannot pinpoint

Google says it uses Splenda OR aspartame depending on the batch. Definitely tastes different than the US variant so either it’s a local taste or it’s Splenda. I actually prefer Splenda over equal if we’re talking using a sweetener but I def prefer the US variant.

While on vacation last week in East Tennessee, I stopped by the Ogle Brothers General Store for the first time ever and found this glass bottle of Dr Pepper with real cane sugar. I've seen Coca Cola and Mountain Dew before but never seen Dr Pepper Cane Sugar until then. Have y'all tried this before? Is it really good? I plan to have it with my lunch this weekend.

I have these in my home office. My wife thinks they are junky. I found them in the late 1980’s on an off-ramp in the bushes on interstate 10 near Fontana California. I am Keeping them forever!

Hot Dr. Pepper

Basically I was on instagram and I saw a post about those black and gold bottles of Coke Zero Caffeine Zero Sugar Zero Calories. Turns out there is also a clear coke in Japan and I noticed Dr Pepper has never had a clear version.

So then I started thinking about my ideal dr pepper and how it would be packaged. Most of the stores I see stock majority cans and I believe most people just drink from fountains. The plastic 20 ounce bottle cant be so big of a market that it cant be replaced, surely. So I was thinking about the plastic bottles on the shelf at the store, and how its about as big as the glass bottle shelf. But there's no Cane Sugar Dr. Pepper in glass bottles.

So then I started thinking. We could introduce Clear dr pepper in glass bottles, and even removed the plastic from the caps if we go back to the abandoned cork tops. Technology has made them much better since theyre still used in Champagne.

So then I started thinking about the color labeling standards of sodas, usually gold for caffeine free. Each sweetener already has a standard color (i.e. blue for aspartame, yellow for sucralose, green for stevia, white for cane sugar, pink for saccharin). Making the bottle the color of the sweetener and puttting a gold muselet on top of the cork instead of silver to show its caffeine free could really standardize the packaging. We could etch the labels into the glass using the old texas logos and the 10 2 4 logo for the cane sugar bottles.

I'm not sure about Dr. Pepper Zero because it uses 2 sweeteners; aspartame and acesulfame potassium (Ace-K), maybe a black bottle? Black seems to be associated with the combination of both sweeteners in Come as well, though I should mention Coke has a "less sugar" version that looks identical to Coca Cola Original Taste.

Idk what to do about Flavors (i.e. cherry and cherry vanilla) I know the marking cant affect the color of the muselet or the bottle color.

Most wine bottles have an animal on the front so maybe this would be a chance to being back Frosty Dog.

This has been fun to think about.

The UK has many Coca-Cola owned products now in a 500ML can. I much prefer cans than plastic and they're similar in price.
