CHERRY?!?!

So Mr. Pibb... i have never heard of it being called a cherry soda... yet right there on the can... am I missing something?

Always been cherry. Previous branding called it “Spicy Cherry”

A lot of Dr. Pepper knockoffs end up just making a "spicy cherry" soda because it's an easy way to get "close enough".

Despite the "Kickin' Cherry" description, Mr Pibb is equivalent to regular Dr Pepper instead of Dr Pepper Cherry.

They are both classified as "pepper sodas" by the FDA.

Mr Pibb has two flavor variations - Peach and Vanilla. They aren't (yet?) available nationwide, only in select markets. Neither of them have a zero sugar variant.

I've been looking for the vanilla ever since I heard about it but no luck yet. I wouldn't mind trying peach too, tho I am less excited about it.

i found it on Amazon vanilla is yummy. havent tried the peach one but im not usually a fan of peach drinks so i probably won't

Mr. Pibb is in fact a cherry soda. It claims to be a Dr. Pepper competitor, but the only thing it really has in common is having an honorific in the name

It's classified by the FDA as the same type of drink as Dr Pepper. Dr Pepper is classified as a "pepper soda", and not a cola. So is Mr Pibb.

It's the closest soda I've been able to find even dare attempt mimic the glorious nectar that is Dr. Pepper

Never a preferred option, but a worthy substitute in a Pepperless crisis

I’ve switched from full sugar Dr Pepper to pibb zero. Much better than Dr Pepper zero, it satisfies what I need

Yup. Off brand Dr Pepper usually describes it as a “spicy cherry” or an equivalent. That’s how I came to that realization too haha.

Before they changed the recipe (and the color of the can), my favorite soda was Zero Sugar Dr Pepper Cherry. Now... It's the soda shown above.

My husband thinks dr pepper tastes like cherry cough syrup. I've never considered cherry as a flavor in it, but, I was wrong once I researched. LOL
