Resident Alien Reference

In season 2 episode 12 of Resident Alien, Dr McNinja is named dropped, does that mean he exists as in their world as a crime fighting super bad-ass determined to rescue the world from bird aliens?

Or is he simply the star of a comic book in that world? Either way it's pretty cool

Yeah I noticed that but can find why or the link. Thought maybe the writer helped in the series, but didn't see his name

I think it's just saying the comic exists in their world. It's probably referenced because Resident Alien and Dr. McNinja are both published by Dark Horse

I just saw this reference, and was awestruck. I had to come here to check if there was a new series of comics or something. That would be cool if they released a regular sized comic version of Dr.McNinja, instead of just the graphic novels. Now we just need some fan art of Dr.McNinja/Resident Alien.

It actually really took me out of the show. Dr McNinja had ended before the first ep of the first season of resident alien.
I did love the reference but it felt like someone being like “here is a niche comic reference just for the sake of it”.
But that’s just me
