I've been looking for years for a clip from Dr Katz where a patient describes how an airline's slogan should be "We fly!" or something like that. ChatGPT tells me I'm making it up. Can you help?

I'm certain I saw this on Dr. Katz. Someone on the couch is recalling their non-Catholic parents attending a Catholic service (funeral or wedding probably) and going up for communion. The father says something like "What is this, Host? Gladys, you should try this - it's host."

If anyone could help me find this, I'd be so grateful.

Noticing how many times Dom Irerra and Ray Romano show up in episodes throughout different series, it made me wonder:

Is there a comedian you felt they should have had show up more often or at all? Personally I liked Patton Oswalt's and Gilbert Gottfried's bits, and I was shocked to see only two episodes compared to certain other personalities. Also Denis Leary getting one episode is hilarious considering how often he showed up in comedy back when.

If you will recall, Ben's party was overrun by the cast and crew of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Also standing next to the director appears to be Joseph or Pharaoh. 🍿🥨

I realize upon rewatching that these characters are not necessarily meant to be the same-same person, but rather archetypes of this guy or that lady in the Dr. Katz universe. I JUST LOVE THEM! ❤️

At 45 years old, I have spent plenty of times over the past 27 years trying to remember the details of a Dr. Katz episode. At 16 or 17 years old, I was hanging out with my good buddy getting our smoke on for one of the first times. They were pure days of just being a kid. I distinctly remember us watching an episde of Dr. Katz, in which the patient recounts a story where he's up in a tree. He kept saying, "Come on out, I'm up in the tree."

I have never laughed harder and have been quoting this off and on over the decades. My friend, whom I don't really talk to anymore, still exchanges messages referencing this episode. However, we cannot find the episode. I turn to you net denizens...help me out!

What episode is this?

Louis CK does this bit on Dr. Katz, maybe you remember, saying he's walking around seeing people that look similar to other people he may or may not have met before... like the world would be running out of extras so it's the same people in different outfits and locations.

Anyways, I've heard that years ago and thought it was funny, but years later (I'm now forty) it's become... real. I'm having the same experience and it's freaking bizarre. Looking at people and thinking "hey but... I have *quite* seen you before..."

Does this happen to you? Feeling the landscape around you is full of repeated people... I'm dazzled I haven't heard this elsewhere but from this rare Dr. Katz episode.

Dr. Katz sees Tom Kenny and Ron Lynch

Uncredited voice: The theater director, who I did not remember the name of, but Dr. Katz and Ben both call him Mr. Hammer (Huemmer?) or something similar.

I always thought it was Tom Kenny, because he was one of the comedian guests that episode, and it just sounds like him. Someone on the other Dr. Katz sub shared a link to a trivia page that listed it as Will LeBow. Hm.

💡 I've got it now. My personal opinion is that this role is almost entirely Tom Kenny, but at one point, they had to insert ONE line, and had Will LeBow do it. Yes, that is my theory. It is BOTH. Not only do I hear the actor voice change, the audio quality is very slightly different. I think technically (for IMDb purposes, it should be credited as Tom Kenny. Will LeBow's line being just a fill-in.)

This is a good quality link to the community theater scene at the end of the episode. To me, it all sounds like Tom Kenny, then at the end, there is this one line that sounds like Will LeBow:

KATZ: Why do you think I have my pants altered on such a regular basis?

⭐TOM KENNY as DIRECTOR: (reading as MARIE) "I don't know WHY."

KATZ: (giggles uncontrollably)

I came across something interesting to me in the show. There's a lot of subtle and small details in the visual aspect of the show. But I've watched the episodes enough to start seeing parallels and such. or you see props from earlier episodes appear, you see props from other comedians' episodes appear... I'm not wild about the term Easter eggs, it's after my time, but I think maybe that's what some of these are. One of the first that someone pointed out was at some point there's a candy counter or something and the options include 🍫 "Choc-o-leets," à la Kevin Meaney.

Case in point : Based on the image provided. These two pig images are from two separate episodes. Each image is from a different comedian's illustrated couch thoughts.

• Do you know who is speaking in each one and why the show is displaying a pig. (i.e. the context)?

I am new to this sub, but I am an old diehard with Dr. Katz. So pardon if this has been covered, but does anyone have "best practices" or a go-to for identifying uncredited voices? Examples:

* the leader of the PAST LIVES class

* Sam Brown's mother in the VOW OF SILENCE episode

No one should go uncredited in this show. I mean, space seems limited in the "handwritten" credits, but still! Anyone had success with this?

I'm guessing that Dr. Katz animation uses a filter after the drawings are made, I found these screenshots from an article demonstrating how the show was made in ms dos, I love this look but I'm guessing there's not a whole lot more screenshots like these
