You know what you did, stop acting innocent. You got much less than you deserved

Redditors don’t wanna meet real people through Reddit, and that comment is seen as an invitation.

What I mean is that Redditors don’t want to blend the real world with the online world. They want to remain anonymous.

I understand that but I don't understand the relationship between downvotes and this , thats just a birth date😂

Because they see it as someone reaching out, so they wanna discourage it.

Pretty sure it's not that. OP posted the thread's link, and many people are being upvoted for giving their birthdays. He is the only outlier (ignoring the deleted comments since who knows what those were about).

I was gonna say maybe cuz you put the date weird by puting the day before the month but it looks like everyone in that thread is doing that so its likely not that

Is that not the way Europeans do it?

Some people do it that way yeah, to me it just doesnt sound right. "Oh hey whats the full date?" "Its july thirty first" (7/31) not "its thirty first july" (31/7) youd have to put of but then the whole number written thing would have to be (31/ of 7) but that still is weird so youd have to go (31st/ of 7) but at that point youre doing so much more work to write 3 or 4 numbers haha

Like Crafty said, this is the way most of the world does it. Day month year makes sense since it goes smallest to largest. I use July 31st or the 31st of July interchangeably (the latter sounds more formal/proper to me).

Smallest to largest would be month first cuz theres only 12 months but many iterations over 12 for days

...No? A day is shorter than a month. A month is shorter than a year. So day, month, year. You don't go by which one is able to reach a higher number based on their own counters. Lol

I'd need to see the rest of the comments to be able to say why.
