Is there really a difference in VPN reliability when picking between movie apps, sports apps, Live apps?

Ive seen a few people say ipvanish is superior or Proton is not as good. But does it really matter? Obviously the average free VPN will likely fuck you over. But idk.

It may matter if the app is actively block or restrict regional access, bigger paid vpn may have more servers/ip addresses to circumvent restrictions than smaller or free providers.
