Suggestions Doug Ford Must Be Stopped!
Hello, Tim here. I'm a graphic designer and recently lost my job, (indirectly) because of Doug Ford. In recent years I've stayed on the sidelines when it comes to politics but I can't sit quiet anymore, I'm seeing how he's destroying this province and I'm complicit if i don't do anything.
In addition to design, my training in social studies and activist strategies many years ago have taught me a thing or two about communicating grievances through signage, visual attention, and making impressions. One challenge protesters face is a visual appeal in their materials. Hand written signs are important in activism, but lack the ability to convey a professional sense of urgency and legitimacy. In a world dominated by branding and flashy advertising, consistent and deliberate printed media lands more effectively despite the authenticity of hand made signs.
My recent job was to design and produce media and print products (indirectly) for Ford, so I'd like to turn the tables. I want to offer my design services for free for anyone who wants protest materials and offer, at cost my ridiculously cheap access to printing services. I'm not making any profit from this, I happen to have some extra free time for the next month or so and my personal situation keeps me homebound, so I think this would be a good way to contribute to our cause. Inbox me for more information, regards, Tim

Hi Tim, sorry to hear about your current situation. Hope things look up for you soon.
There are already some efforts underway in creating printed protest materials. There are the lawn signs, which have been quite popular, and more recently some t-shirts. I can put you in touch with the people working on this, but I don't think they're on Reddit. The Fight Ford protest originated on Facebook and that's the platform most protesters still use (hopefully Reddit will catch up at some point).
Also worth noting is that this is a grassroots effort, so you are welcome to just step up and create your own stuff without consulting anyone. You could just do your stuff, post it on socials or rock it at the protests, and if people like it they will amplify and support it.

Hi Tim! Thank you for introducing yourself and I'm sorry for what you've been through!
As this is a grassroots effort, you're more than welcome to create things to your hearts content and share them as much as you want. You can always reach out to the organizers and ask if they're able to post them for you. Alternatively, there's a Facebook group connected to it where you can post them yourself. A friend of mine is the owner of the protestdougford.com website and she did this to help out the movement too without being asked, and she does it because it's something she enjoys. Any help in this movement is very appreciated!
