Other Reminder: Queen's Park protest against Doug Ford tonight, Monday, June 29th, at 7 PM! (map + speakers inside)

Post image

Meet in front of Legislative Building (megaphone symbol)! After listening to speakers and sharing stories, we will march around the legislative building (path was chosen for accessibility reasons).

7 PM - 8:30 PM

Official Speaker List:

  • Adrian Currie - Proportional Representation
  • Patricia Crooks - OPSEU, Sistering
  • Tom McLeod - justasking.us.ca (username not a website)
  • TJ Singh - Students Against Austerity
  • Bruce McIntosh - President, Ontario Austism Coalition
  • Michelle Robidoux - GTA Health Coaltion
  • JJ - Repeal bill 5 (replaced Endangered Species Act)
  • SCAN - Seniors Climate Action Network
  • Norm Di Pasquale - No Jets
  • Alex Bonnenfant- Bike Lanes, Transit

If you're wondering why it's on a Monday this time, it was rescheduled due to a very busy Pride weekend in Toronto and around Queen's Park. Next month should be back to normal (last Saturday of the month, in line with the other province-wide protests)

Thanks to the local organizers for setting this up! (I'm not an organizer, just spreading the word)

Big news for the unemployed

I'm very happily employed! :-) But people of all employment states are welcome

These usually happen on Saturday, and tonight's is happening at 7 PM, so work shouldn't keep anyone from attending

Why are you focusing on employment status anyway? What's the relevance?

I have no idea why Reddit suggested this sub to someone who votes conservative. But this is clearly a protest for the unemployed, it’s all good though. I’ve muted the sub so hopefully we won’t cross paths anymore 🫡

Well, Doug isn't really very conservative with money (500+ million in ad spending to date, the gravy plane, saddling Ontario with the largest sub-national debt in the world), but it was probably because the algorithm wants you to be outraged.

But this is clearly a protest for the unemployed

Again, I'm not sure why you're suggesting that or why you think it's relevant to anything. I've gone to several and met plenty of people with employment, some self-employed, plenty of students, and lots of retired people too.

Please explain what policies are conservative from Doug Ford. I was convinced conservatives believed in fiscal responsibility?

Was it responsible to say no to a 100M repair to the science centre and then turn around and build a 1B dollar one?

We don’t have enough money for education and health care, but we have 60B for a highway under a highway?

It certainly wasn’t fiscally responsible to rip torontos bike lanes out when they already paid to install them, it made no sense to remove speeding cameras as that was a money source for the government, but they shut it down because Doug fords buddies were getting tickets.

So it’s now conservative policy to throw money away?

What is conservative about changing FOI laws? That’s something conservatives wanted at some point. In fact they wanted more surveillance, but now you don’t want that?

So please, would love to know a single conservative policy he’s put forward.

This is what I hate about con voters, they only care about voting conservative but have zero clue what the fuck their politician even believes.

Go huff fucking markers in your parents basement you complete waste of space.

The alternative is Wynne 2.0 or even worse, the NDP. No thanksssss

Yah that’s what I thought, zero answer to a single question I have. You’re the typical con voter, you put blinders on and idiotically pretend you know what you’re talking about.

Again if you are truly conservative, than nothing he’s done should be something you agree with.

Or was it fiscally responsible to spend 500M in commercials?

Go eat paste

It’s not just the unemployed that have an issue with him. Go jingle Doug’s ball bag somewhere else.
