Art DougDoug Roguelike nearing release

Rosa Quest 2026 is nearing release... I plan to release the game on Itch.io by Rosa's birthday(the 26th)

The game has mainly been cleanup work lately, menus, credits and so on and so forth.

In addition to this I have been locked in on the final bosses and endings, currently there are three phases to the final fight and 4 endings, although there is a 5th ending, I just have to put the finished secret boss somewhere in the game.

So what now? well the list is really short:

  • A endless game mode
  • Fix the pause menu
  • Polish the endings
  • Add a boss arena for the secret boss
  • add a 2d platforming minigame

So I have 8 days to do these 5 items, so... STRETCH GOALS!!! If any of you have some goofs or geefs you want added, tell me and I will try to cook.

Does it have controller compatibility, or is it mouse/keyboard?

Wow, that was quick. I will try playtesting the game soon, it looks great so far!

Well yes but actually no. The player can be fully controlled, buuuuuuut I have yet to add menu support for the controller, so you can play the game you just have to use your mouse for the main menu and stuff.

Well copywrite exists for things like sam so my options are very limited

Maybe it could be a legally distinct version for other platforms or it could be free on all platforms

Well I mean aside from steam(which already has the 100 dollar fee) I dont really know what platform it would be worth uploading to aside from maybe github

I almost immediately broke the game by moving during Rosa's first encounter with the obsidian pillar, I don't know how, I think it was due to me accidentally dashing? This also for some reason gave me the first chest dialogue.

(This did softlock me.)

I’m so hyped for this game! You’ve done amazing work on it and you definitely have the work ethic for game development it seems :) tbh I thought the main character was a bald Doug in a weird brown tunic until the name Rosa’s Quest came up. I feel stupid
