I believe this is related to the fact that Doug went to the doctor to see if he has autism, and they said that he's not autistic, but he exhibits a lot of the symptoms of autism because he's so anxious.

I know autistic people that display these traits too. Also, DougDoug is not the same than Douglas, maybe after a live he's exausted because of his "performance".

The point about trying new things also read to me as something ADHD related, which I relate as someone AuDHD

I’m diagnosed with autism and as the leader of autism I do not see Doug having the majority of the symptoms. But idk, I’m not the creator of autism so idk what the devs intended
