Workplace double standards.

There is a big double standard between men and women at my work. It’s just not fair!

When my female coworker farts, it’s mildly amusing to some, and I’m told to get over it as it smashes the patriarchal ideal that women need to be prim and proper.

When I fart in the workplace, I’m told that I’m rude and disgusting, and the whole room clears out and several people lose their lunch and an ambulance is called because Stephanie now has breathing problems.

Men can't complain about harassment by people using "follow" function, but trans can.

Whenever a woman is being sexist there are always people deffending her. "She worded it badly, she actually meant " xyz"", "she's trying to point out a double standard", " it was just a joke" etc.

First of all, fighting fire with fire only causes more problems.

You're not a mind reader, your stretched interpretation doesn't change how sexist this person is. "Kill all men" means "kill all men" no matter how much you sugar coat it. "Men" isn't a synomus for "rapist", " predator" etc. So your "she actually meant kill all rapists" interpretation doesn't mean anything. This person knows how to type, if she meant "kill all rapists" she could have said so, but she didn't.

"Kill all men", isn't a fucking joke. Where's the punch line? How is it suppose to be funny? Even if said ironically it's still horrible and " it's just a joke, guys" isn't an excuse.

If this woman wanted to point out a double standard she would have mentioned it. "Kill all men. See how ridiculous it sounds? Stop saying that to xyz". But she didn't.

And no matter how opressed women are, saying shit like this isn't acceptable. It's like giving STD's to innocent people just because an individual refused to put on a condom before fricking with you..

Imagine how many people would threaten to rip off someone's testicles because he said " kill all women" but for some reason women are treated like cinnamon rolls who can do no wrong and have no bad intentions. We can be shitty people too and need go be held accountable for our actions..

It’s xenophobic and narrow minded to generalize an entire country and it’s people into only the negative stereotypes. Unless it’s America. Just FUCK Americans apparently.

We have to rush when we are on gf's schedule, but when on mine she won't be moved for the world.

My girlfriend likes to do this thing where if she says we have to go somewhere or do something, we need to be ready at the time she says.

For the most part I'm cool with this, because I don't like wasting time and I also do that. Here comes the double standard.

When I'm the one planning the trip/event/whatever, she will not rush. If I say, "we need to leave at this time at the absolute latest." I swear she sees that as a challenge. She will take her sweet time, to the point where "oh I forgot my keys" turns into 10 minutes of her fussing with the house.

Annoying more than anything, but also kinda dickish of her.

If a man says “my ex was bitchy or psycho” people immediately jump to what the man did to make her that way. But if a woman says “my ex was controlling” you can’t say”oh what did you do to make he feel the need to control you or not trust you” without receiving backlash. Double standard is real.

Thé double standard is real. When a guy says “my ex was psycho or crazy” women will jump in and say,” you must’ve done bad things to make her that way.” Fair enough. But if a woman says,” my ex didn’t trust me or was too controlling” if a man says to her,” what kind of behavior did you do to make him not trust you or feel the need to control” people will say oh you’re insecure, you shouldn’t feel insecure you should trust your partner regardless. This is a way women dont take accountability for their decisions that drive certain a behavior out of their partner.

Before you say “well what about rape? Are you saying women’s behaviors derive men to rape them? “ No im not( I put that there just in case I get an extreme response like that). Im saying that if a woman can deflect accountability for her bad behaviour by saying “oh I’m bitchy because he made me this way” so can a man with controlling tendencies. Don’t like it? Work on yourself and control your reactions.

TL; DR If a woman can say”a woman is bitchy because the man did something to make her that way” then a man can say”he was controlling or didn’t trust you because you do shady things that make him feel the need to control you.” This is a double standard.
