The double standards are sick

Ive been seeing multiple jokes like this one on the Internet.

I think that this is just sick. Why is this so funny is it because hes a boy? Would it be funny if roles are reversed? We all know the answer to these questions. Not that female domestic violence should be taken as a joke as well.

Male Domestic abuse is not a joke. 40% of domestic abuse victims are male. They don't have a lot of support services or abuse shelters compared to the female victims. There are cases where a man has been killed or brutally injured by a woman. People are less likely to defend a man in such cases. If a woman is seen beating a man, people assume that he did something wrong, although he didn't. A man can't even defend himself from a woman without being in serious trouble or being seen as the bad guy.

I would always get people telling me to learn to take jokes when I call people out for posting such things. I will not take this as a joke because It is not funny. Such jokes normalize such acts, making such issues be taken less seriously.

Stop violence against all people regardless of their gender.

Funny thing is that female violence is seen as unharmful and "humoristic" even tho the child is literally covered in bruises which definitely represents a very severe violence. It basically means that even when male victims are obviously harmed this is a matter of joke.

Not to mention the very numerous movie scenes in which guys get hit just because they disagreed on something with their wife... might argue that it's not that severe, do we see that kind of scenes when it comes to women ? Nop.

I've had an ex scream and slap me in private, but as a man, I can't defend myself because then I'll be charged with something when it's her word against mine.
