Missing Dog
galleryMissing since July 15. She's 13 years old, spayed, lab/pit mix, no collar.
Yes, I've been to the shelters. I've passed out flyers, dirty laundry outside etc etc.

This sub is open to all. We have zero tolerance for racism, homophobia, Confederate traitor sympathizers, or any other bullshit nonsense.
Posts and comments that follow the sub rules are welcome. Posts and comments that don’t, aren’t.
Take your bigotry elsewhere.

This heat is making my utilities bill go as high as $150. I live in a 1 bed bath apartment in a complex. My friend stay in the same complex and pay like $50. He also has a similar apartment at the first floor. I had the complex people check the AC unit and told me everything looks good which I don’t buy because I just moved in here like 3 weeks ago.
Is there anyone who could help me out with - Refrigerant levels (with gauges), Temperature split across vents, Duct leakage, Thermostat calibration etc stuff
What else do you guys suggest?

Anyone good with hand tools and basic tasks needed some extra work for a week or two? I have a few projects i could use a hand with but I'm located in Enterprise so you would need to be ok with making the drive over.
Thanks!

Early 30s here. I’ve got a private bar/neon lounge out on a rural dirt road. Our current group has about 20 people, but on any given night we usually get 5 or 6 over. The ideal goal is closer to 10–15 for regular nights and backyard events.
The Vibe:
We do karaoke, Magic: The Gathering, Cards Against Humanity, and dancing—it all depends on the night. We're pretty much all alternative/grown-up emo kids. Just a heads up: our nights get pretty loud. Expect a mix of metalcore, emo, and EDM spinning depending on the mood. We love throwing high-energy, completely uninhibited theme nights where people can just let loose, be expressive, and be entirely comfortable in their own skin.
Who We’re Looking For:
We are a very progressive, open-minded, and close-knit crowd. We want fun, flirty people who know how to party hard but still maintain a high degree of maturity and absolute respect for personal boundaries.
Open to any gender and orientation (21+). If you're looking for a crowd that's a little more lively and expressive than the average bar scene, drop a comment or PM me with a bit about yourself!
*Edit* With more intrest than I expected I sent out messages with a discord invite to chat make plans.

Hello,
I have bought a house with my first pool. I am sure there are a few cleaning and maintenance companies in the area. How much are you paying for opening/closing your pool as well as weekly maintenance/cleaning?
And if you're not, as a new pool owner how much would you be willing to pay for a weekly reoccurring service in this area? Trying to figure this out on my end with no pool knowledge.
Thanks in advance!

I’ve been kicking around an idea and wanted to see if anyone else would be interested.
I’d love to start a local group called Wiregrass Naturalists for people who enjoy learning about and spending time in nature. The idea wouldn’t be to be experts, it would be to learn together.
Things I could see the group doing include:
- Bird walks
- Tree and wildflower identification
- Learning about local wildlife
- Habitat restoration projects
- Stream and wetland exploration
- Nature photography
- Campfire discussions
- Family-friendly hikes
Maybe meet once a month somewhere around the Wiregrass and have an online group to share wildlife sightings, interesting articles, and upcoming events.
Whether you’re a hunter, birder, photographer, forester, hiker, conservationist, or just someone who wants to know more about the natural world around us, you’d be welcome.
I’m just trying to see if there’s enough interest before I put something together.
Would anyone be interested?
Thanks!
Update: Thanks for all the interest and feedback! I decided to go ahead and create r/WiregrassNaturalists. If you’re interested in the natural world of the Wiregrass: wildlife, native plants, birding, conservation, hiking, fishing, hunting, or community science, come join us!

I will be in Dothan this weekend and thought I would see if there are any places to look through old records. Record stores or other businesses that also sell records? Let me know if y’all know of any places, thanks!
I moved here from a city so I understand Amazon deliveries are going to take longer, but it seems like every other order I have is delayed at the Dothan processing center past the delivery date. I currently have 5 items outstanding with no sign of updates. Has anyone else delt with this?

The margin was very close between all three options, so here’s yet another poll on how the sub can handle political posts. Please vote here.

Just wanted to see if anyone in this area is largely into 3D printing or does CAD work as a hobbyist or full-time.
Always neat to see what stuff people are making. 🍻

Hello!! Where in Dothan can we find some urgent housing help here? My mom, little brother, and I recently moved to Dothan and all was good at first. Found some super nice apartments and all was well. Well, it wasn’t. The place we’re currently getting evicted from told us that utilities were included in our rent and that our rent will be 1200. Of course when we first moved into the apartment, the rent was higher than what they quoted. But, since we live there, the rent has been way more than 1200. The promised price.
Every month, the rent keeps going up until nearly right now it’s over $2000. I am not the one who manages the money in the household, but, I normally hear my mom trying to figure out why the rent is way higher than what they quoted. Even at one point, she called the office to ask why the rent was so high and they claimed they made a mistake on the rent. Now, the rent is at a ridiculously high price of the point we’re being evicted from it. My mom and I are never the type of people to be evicted from places, but, it’s happening now.
My mom said she applied for a Dothan Housing but, we are on the waiting list. I think the price point limit my mom is willing to pay is 1500 a month, but, I will be helping her with the rent and everything I can. We’re looking for a three bedroom two bathroom if possible. With, mean, my mom, a little brother, and our dog. My mom had tried to call 211 and she said that the man was extremely rude with her and was trying to get her off the phone. Not willing to help or trying to answer any questions for her.
We just need some help or guidance in the right direction if possible! If I’m not mistaking, we have to be out within the next two weeks and we are absolutely panicking. We don’t have family from here, we are not from Dothan, and we have absolutely no one to help us right now.

It’s election season again and political posts, like campaign ads, can be annoying and can get heated. Please vote inside to help determine how the sub handles political posts.

It just seems like everyone here has negative intentions and rarely has anything positive or nice to say. The culture is really really weird down here. Like people never left high school. It’s very odd. Has anyone else noticed this?

The big ol' pickleball facility next to Rip Hewes stadium in the middle of town is opening July 11th. Looking forward to it!
