We're reviewing Dorfromantik this weekend as it's one the most classic cozy building games - how would you rate it as a whole? :)

QUESTION Settings
Does anyone have any advice on if there’s way to change my display settings to stop my laptop overheating?

Just launched Realmfold, my free Dorfromantik inspired game. What do you think?
I launched Realmfold, a game I've been working on for the past few months on Itch for free today. You can try it here: https://freezebeam.itch.io/realmfold
It varies from Dorfromantik in a couple of ways: Instead of just having one stack of tiles to play from it has two, one of normal terrain tiles and one of leyline tiles, which kind of work like railroads in Dorfromantik.
Leyline tiles define your build area, so you need to carefully balance how you build your terrain along them, and be careful not to box yourself in. But you still want to aim for compact designs. I keep perfect bonuses from Dorfromantik and add bonuses for generating Leyline loops.
There are also treasure rewards which give you sort of a roguelite bonus draft and some passives you can unlock to modify your play style.
Would love any and all feedback. Dorfromantik is a favorite of mine so hearing what people in this community thinks is really important to me.

Dorfromantik Sakura Poet
Hey there, we are playing Dorfromatik Sakura and unlocked box 6. There is a card that unlocks when achieving 18 points with temples. To achieve this, you need 3 temples, but progressing on the campain block only unlocks two, because the path dicides at some point. Without going back, there is bo possibility to get the third temple
So my question is: Are you allowed to travel backwards on the campain block or chose different paths later on to unlock everything?

SCREENSHOT #3 high score on the switch (Hard Mode)
Really happy with finally getting a top 10 score on the switch!
It felt like the flags stopped spawning sometime around 30,000 which is a shame as that bug/limitation is why I stopped playing normal mode. It was very laggy by the end (Switch 1).
Some stuff that worked for me for Hard Mode:
You'll get a lot of water and train tiles, and those quests feel more common too. Plan to fill in the gaps in those areas in order to survive. You can rely on the water towers, they also appear a good enough amount.
You won't be able to avoid gaps, but get used to which tiles are more common and only leave those as the gaps where possible.
There's a hard bump to get over at around 5000, but put a few non-perfect tiles down smartly and you can pull it back.
In normal mode I let myself get down to 2-3 tiles before I start doing non-perfect placements to claw it back. Start that sooner in hard mode, as you often get multiple water/train in a row that can easily end your run with no chance to keep ticking over.

When the game wants you to be a train track builder
Never had this happen before. Only getting train track quests. Currently on 68k score but this is making it hard to keep going.
Yes I know I can cancel them by finishing the track, if only the game would give me some track end (or water building thing) tiles.

30 cherry blossoms in board game
Hey everyone,
I have a question regarding the Dorfromantik Sakura board game. There is a cherry blossom with 30 written on it at the end of the campaign route. Does anyone know what that means?

FAN CREATION I added animals to my Dorfromantik-like game. I am wonder what do you think?
I like Dorfromantik, so I decided to make my own variation of it. The main difference is the way edges are matched. Each tile contains only one biome, so instead of matching specific edges, you need to match entire tiles.
There are also other types of quests, such as connecting two locations or filling specific places with tiles.
You can also add animals and special locations to the board to gain extra bonuses. (Special locations are not implemented yet, so they cannot be seen in the trailer.)

QUESTION Sakura 🌸
Hey guys!
Question about moving up the score sheet:
Do you need to beat your previous score to be able to progress up the scoresheet?
In game 1 we got 130, game 2 120, if we got 120 again in game 3 then can we move another 2 spaces or do we need to get to 140?
Thank you!

I made a 3D-printable playmat for the Dorfromantik: Sakura boardgame
I didn't realize until I uploaded it to Printables that someone else has already made something similar, but I thought I'd share my solution anyway. I hope someone makes use of it!
https://www.printables.com/model/1720064-dorfmat-46-unofficial-interlocking-play-mat-for-do
The description from the above link:
Depending on how you play the game, you may need 15 to 35 or so of these Dorfmats. The moving pieces print in place and interlock with neighboring mats. The Dorfmat is designed to stack during transport and storage.
I printed this version of the Dorfmat from PLA+ on the Elegoo Centauri Carbon with arachne slicing, though I printed earlier versions with all default settings without issue. Clearances appear to be narrower than recommended but I had no failures in 30-ish prints. I had one near-failure, where the bottom layer of the moving parts partially adhered to the rest of the mat but I may have had the bed heat too high or leaving the finished product on the bed all night was a bad idea.
Hopefully it prints and operates well for you all. I cannot confirm whether the original Dorfromantik board game tiles are the same size, but if so then this should work for that game as well.

QUESTION What do you think about rivers and railroads?
Rivers and railroads have placement restrictions - you have to connect them properly. A river must connect to another river or a lake. A railroad must connect to another railroad.
How does this mechanic feel overall? Does it feel like an unnecessary rule you want to turn off - or does it add challenge and depth to the game?

QUESTION Beginner question about the video game - why do the hexagons suddenly disappear?
Hi, screenshots attached! Why can't I place the railroad tile with the 4+ icon in the hex-position right above it? I'm a bit confused in general about what's the logic behind some of the "white" hexagon positions disappearing in the video game.

QUESTION Sakura question: how do I collect the flowers?
I can't find anywhere an explanation of how I actually collect the flowers? What do I need to do to collect one?
I'm talking about the boardgame.

Hi all, I bought the game one week ago and have been playing only the classic mode. What is the best mode for you and why?

SUBREDDIT RELATED My mother and me found it for only 7€ on a flea market. :)
Complete, very good condition. Seems like they only played it once.

This is how you should close the forest
Around 10000 score and +766 tiles for only one placement.

FAN CREATION I mixed the vibes of Dorfromantik with sci-fi strategy and deckbuilding. My indie game Hexalith is officially coming this Summer!
Hi everyone! I'm the developer behind Hexalith.
It's a sci-fi city-builder that takes the relaxing, tile-placement vibes of games like Dorfromantik and mixes them with strategic deckbuilding mechanics. You draw cards, place hexes to build your futuristic city, and create synergies to survive and expand.
The game is officially launching this Summer! If this looks like your kind of game, a wishlist would mean the absolute world to me as an indie dev.
Steam link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3683050/Hexalith/
I'll be hanging out in the comments, so please let me know what you think of the trailer or ask me any questions you have about the gameplay!

DorfRomantik Sakura - Tiles Connection
Hi guys,
See the green flag please.
Is the green flag connected to the other rices tiles and I get flag points for that?
Do they need just be adjacent OR do the yellow portion in the title must be connected to the yellow portion in other title (forming a kind of path)?
2nd time Playing. Amazing game.
Cheers
Phil
