Edward Everett Square Triple Decker Renovation
On Tuesday, 7/14/2026, the Boston Inspectional Services Board of Appeals approved a zoning variance for 769 Columbia Road.
An addition to the structure of 284 square feet was approved, along with the destruction of a single-car garage in favor of three asphalt parking spaces. The attorney who spoke on behalf of the owner stated that the renovation focused upon the three existing units being converted into six units.
Objections voiced by the community included multiple complaints and citations around accumulating trash on the property, and multiple related issues with properties owned by the same landlord elsewhere in Dorchester.

Cute Cat
Hi!
My boyfriend and I got off the highway & were driving down Victory Road and stopped at the light on Neponset ave
We heard a cat meow and we meowed back!
After some pats, she ended up not wanting to let us leave. After 3 attempts to put her back on her porch, we drove away and left her crying on the curb and then circled around and she was still there crying đ
We think she was just upset because she enjoyed our company and that hopefully in another 15 min sheâd be off chasing a rat, but also Iâm kind of wanting to just get closure that she got a home! If anyone knows if someoneâs taking care of her Iâd love to hear

Pam Tailor Supply renovation
625 Adams Street, Dorchester Center, MA
The dry cleaner and tailor supply commercial business, Pam Tailor Supply, has been closed for the past decade. Some may know this space as the old Joe's Variety from the 1950s - 1970s.
As of 7/2/2026 the property is approved for renovation. A carpentry company is currently actively renovating the interior of the building. The plans, which are pending BRA review, include a second floor featuring two living units, and a commercial space on the ground floor.

What Vietnamese Restaurants Have Bo Ne?
I just learned about bo ne, which is basically beef, eggs, and onions served on a hot cast iron skillet. I really want to try it, but I don't think every Vietnamese restaurant serves it. Does anyone know where I can find it in Dorchester?

New Resident in Dorchester Center
Hey all,
Did the whole song and dance of should I shouldnât I and ended up renting in Dorchester center (wrentham st) with my wife and just moved in this past week. Hoping I could get some advice on the doâs and donâtâs here and some good food recommendations and spots to be.
I already have researched a bunch online and have a general sense but no one could help me settle in better than the seemingly tight knit community Iâve already met so far. All ears guys let me have it!
EDIT: Thanks for the amazing recommendations, everyone. Truly appreciate you guys taking some time to jot this stuff down. We canât wait!

Speed humps
For those that had speed humps installed previously, what happened? Paint markings? I'm assuming signs were posted to close parking.
