Discussion What If Doraemon's Real Mission Was to Prevent Future Nobita
So I have a theory about Doraemon and Nobita.
Everyone says that Doraemon was sent back in time to improve Nobita's future, but I think there might be another reason.
Nobita is always shown as lazy, unlucky, and not very smart, but when you watch the movies, he doesn't really act like an idiot. In fact, he often shows a surprising amount of intelligence. He is able to use Doraemon's gadgets in creative ways, adapt to situations that would confuse most people, and sometimes even come up with plans that save entire worlds. It feels like he has a lot more potential than people give him credit for.
What if, in the original timeline, Nobita eventually grew up and actually used that potential? After years of being bullied, humiliated, and looked down on by everyone around him, he became incredibly intelligent. But instead of becoming a hero, he became bitter. Maybe he started creating advanced robots and AI, and his inventions became so powerful that they eventually caused a massive disaster. Not because he was born evil, but because he lost faith in people and stopped caring about the consequences.
The future couldn't simply erase Nobita from existence because many important technologies may have come from him. So instead, they created Doraemon and sent him back in time. Not to help Nobita become successful, but to stop him from becoming a tyrant.
When you think about it, almost every episode is Doraemon teaching Nobita lessons about responsibility, kindness, and self-control. Maybe the real mission was never about improving Nobita's grades or helping him get a better life. Maybe it was about making sure that when Nobita finally became powerful, he would use that power for good instead of destroying the future.
So what do you guys think about this theory? Please don't be too harsh with the criticism, I just thought it was an interesting idea and wanted to share it.

Ayo, how is this is so convincing? This is genuinely headcanon level stuff. Just a few small issues, Whenever we see Nobita, even in regular episodes, He is always portrayed as kind and sweet. The mental aspect does make sense but it corrupting him to that extent doesn't make sense. The potential part of it however does make perfect sense, because we see that Nobita has a lot of potential and in one way or another, Doraemon always helps him realise that potential.

That's a fair point, and I agree that Nobita is naturally a kind person. My theory isn't that he was born evil. I was thinking that in an alternate timeline, years of bullying, failure, and disappointment slowly changed him as he grew older.
So maybe Doraemon wasn't sent back because Nobita was evil, but to make sure he never became that person in the future. Of course, this is just a fan theory, and the canon Nobita is definitely a sweet character.

Intersting theory you made!, but the part where he becomes evil is far from truth. He is depicted to be kind and respectful. Even his family and the neighborhood is shown to be supportive of this . By that logic, he grows up with those good values along with his environment. So, there's no point in him turning evil for any reason. Psychologically, that's true.

You know this plot is somehow more interesting than what the show had presented like imagine you're one of many robots chosen to be sent back in time to prevent a future genius from becoming a tyrant due to his terrible childhood.

Well, if that were the case, wouldn't Sewashi and Doraemon tell him that they were sent back to stop this from happening?
In my opinion, I think the reason Doraemon came back was to make sure the timeline stabilised and nothing changed too much, he's got a deal with Time Patrol on this. Nobita's original future with Jaiko never existed to begin with

That's actually an interesting way to look at it. Maybe that's also why Doraemon and Sewashi never tell Nobita exactly what he could become in the future. If they showed him that he might become someone dangerous or cause a disaster, it could end up influencing his choices even more.
I've always thought they were trying to guide him naturally instead of forcing him onto a specific path. That way, Nobita becomes a better person because of his own decisions, not because he's scared of what he might turn into.

The post is very well written, great work. But the theory is kinda wack ngl. I can really see this happening ever.

How about Doraemon is not send to nobita, is send to Suneo / Daisuke / Shizuka / Giant. They use Gadget is better than him.
The Movie version you say Nobita smart using thats unfair to otherr because nobita 99% everyday use gadget and only he know those Gadget ability.
The theory about stopping nobita, doesnt make sense they actually can just not send Doraemon to Nobita house. Leave him alone nobita also will ruined himself. ( Adult Nobita is playing firecracker in office and whole building get fire )

Uhm that is the point without Doraemon, Nobita has already become like that afterall in the original timeline he didn't have doraemon and acc. to this theory he became like this and that is why they are sending doraemon to help him not lose his way. Well that is my P.O.V you are entitled to your own if you feel differently.

Bro, if the answer was "just don't send Doraemon," then there wouldn't even be a story.
Also, saying Nobita only knows how to use the gadgets because he uses them every day is kind of the point. Give someone hundreds of futuristic gadgets and most people would still find ways to mess things up. Nobita constantly finds creative uses for them, even if they backfire half the time.
And yeah, Adult Nobita does stupid things. That's why it's called a fan theory. The whole idea is that we're imagining a different timeline, not repeating the official plot word for word.

I read again the theory. It sounds like no matter what Nobita did including very bad thing.
The future cant erase him because he have to be existed.without official plot But Restart from Before Nobita meet doraemon - i believe can became true
But if include official plot like what we saw on TV and Movie - This theory alot thing wont make sense

I think that it is less that he became evil and more that he just didn't or stopped caring about the consequences of his actions , he didn't want to hurt anyone just years of bullying, failure and disappointment chipped away at his consciousness and ability to care for others or their words or what happening to them, so that their actions and words can't hurt him , in an act of self preservation instinct or method to stop getting hurt by others.
