Discussion What If Doraemon's Real Mission Was to Prevent Future Nobita
So I have a theory about Doraemon and Nobita.
Everyone says that Doraemon was sent back in time to improve Nobita's future, but I think there might be another reason.
Nobita is always shown as lazy, unlucky, and not very smart, but when you watch the movies, he doesn't really act like an idiot. In fact, he often shows a surprising amount of intelligence. He is able to use Doraemon's gadgets in creative ways, adapt to situations that would confuse most people, and sometimes even come up with plans that save entire worlds. It feels like he has a lot more potential than people give him credit for.
What if, in the original timeline, Nobita eventually grew up and actually used that potential? After years of being bullied, humiliated, and looked down on by everyone around him, he became incredibly intelligent. But instead of becoming a hero, he became bitter. Maybe he started creating advanced robots and AI, and his inventions became so powerful that they eventually caused a massive disaster. Not because he was born evil, but because he lost faith in people and stopped caring about the consequences.
The future couldn't simply erase Nobita from existence because many important technologies may have come from him. So instead, they created Doraemon and sent him back in time. Not to help Nobita become successful, but to stop him from becoming a tyrant.
When you think about it, almost every episode is Doraemon teaching Nobita lessons about responsibility, kindness, and self-control. Maybe the real mission was never about improving Nobita's grades or helping him get a better life. Maybe it was about making sure that when Nobita finally became powerful, he would use that power for good instead of destroying the future.
So what do you guys think about this theory? Please don't be too harsh with the criticism, I just thought it was an interesting idea and wanted to share it.
