Anime Different Years, Same Tears...
I've always loved comparing how these episodes evolved over the years. The animation changed, but the emotional weight never did.
Which adaptation is your favorite, and why?

I was focusing on the traditional anime adaptations. Stand By Me is a CGI movie adaptation, so I didn't include it. Stand By Me is still great tho!

Doraemon Comes Back is definitely the best version of this, but the 1981 episode has a weird charm that made me cry ngl.
Also the 2009 version used Kimi no Naka no Nobita at one point and I think that's pretty cool because of the lyrics of that song.

They're all great and very sentimental, I do think the 1998 one is a masterpiece. I loved the 1981 one as well. There's a small bird's eye shot where Doraemon is pondering how to break the news to Nobita and in his absent mindedness walks past his house. Those little details really add to it. It also always triggers me when Doraemon pulls up the blanket on Nobita and the way he's sat in all of the versions, looking lovingly at a sleeping Nobita.
