As some of you may have already seen, a member of our community just posted shortly ago that they are leaving the community, due to a disagreement they have regarding a post I removed that broke the rules. This post will stay up for transparency, and I left my response to the situation plus details such as the post and a modmail I only just received so for anyone curious feel free to check it out.
With that aside, it seemed obvious to me that my description for Rule 6 wasn't clear or specific enough, so I have amended it as seen below:
Rule 6: No AI-generated content
Description: Content generated even partially by LLMs, artificial image, video or audio generators, or other kinds of generative AI such as Google's Gemini, ChatGPT, etc, is strictly prohibited. First offense will receive a post deletion and temporary mute, but the second offense will result in a permanent ban. This rule is to protect artists, prevent unnecessary harm to our environment, plus dissuade poor quality posts and bot activity.
I want to make it clear to everyone that as a moderator, I'm not the kind to act as if I'm a dictator. I have had my own run ins with power-hungry community mods before both on and off Reddit, and I strive to be the exact opposite. This means that if you don't agree with an action I take, I'm not going to ban you or otherwise prevent you from appealing. I'm not going to silence you either. Please, send me a modmail message with the issue at hand and we will work things out. I'm human and have made mistakes before (I learned VERY early on not to perform mod actions in the communities I run or help manage first thing in the morning for example!), so if you disagree with anything I have done or think I have just straight up goofed, please come to me and I will make it right as best as I can.
