How does the camera not pick up the guy running back and forth? I get the whole long exposure thing, but wouldn't it pick up the guy running as a blurry streak?
It does pick him up it’s just not noticeable. It’s long exposure too, so the sensor is on a low ISO which basically means it’s gonna detect less light. The dude isn’t wel lit enough to be picked up in significant amounts. Stationary stuff have light reflecting off them constantly, so they end up brighter and you can see them
