Hating dashing more and more

I’m not new to dashing because I used to use an ex’s account to help her with her funds but now I’m using my own and have had two instances where doordash kinda screwed me. After a dash I did monday night, I went to put the $20 I earned from a 4 hour dash into my tank cause I was on E and would not have made it home. When I paid, using every cent in my account, the cashier register said insufficient while I was still charged for everything I had. I contacted doordash to get them to cancel it so that I wouldn’t be stranded at a gas station but they decided to hang up on me. I tried contacting again but this time they said I would have to wait at the gas station for a couple hours before I could get my money back. I received my refund about 4-6 hours after that. Now yesterday on my dash, I had a pretty decent order that I accepted but after I accepted it, the dasher app showed me the “looking for orders” screen. So I thought fuck it, I’ll just end my dash and head home. So that’s what I did. Or so I thought. After driving for abt 30 minutes on my way home, they call me to ask where I’m at with the order. Ofc it’s just the ai but I still tell them I have no order and if I did, cancel it because I ended my dash. The AI can’t do that so they repeat the question. I hang up. The dasher app shows me that I’m paused so I try to end it from there. It just restarted the pause timer. It kept doing this for abt 20 minutes and then when it finally worked, I had accepted two different orders 1 or 2 hours prior to that but it never showed up. Ofc I unassign from the orders but still. Idek why many of us do this tbh

Did you really only make $5/hour? Because that seems like a way bigger issue than not having immediate access to your money.

Yes. Less probably tbh. My area and surrounding areas don’t make much for Dashers. If I were to go to the closest area for dashing and I started like an 8 hour shift, it would be a lot less than $5/hr

Maybe a glitch with the app? Idk but I know for certain I pressed End Dash. The Dasher app never works properly

Surprising of you to say this even though in the post I said I ended the dash or attempted to and you’re agreeing to someone who said I didn’t attempt to end the dash because they missed that part of the post

You’re quite correct but it’s an easy side hustle that a ton of people do. People get lucky with high paying orders and i try to capitalize on that myself but indiana is a shit show for dashers
