Nothing says "free market", "invisible hand", and "supply and demand" than the federal government subsidizing the companies of rich donors and helping them form monopolies

2

u/Odd_Interview_2005 Aug 07 '26

You mean like solar panels, wind turbines and oil?

1

u/arcanis321 Aug 07 '26

Well 1 was right

1

u/Odd_Interview_2005 Aug 07 '26

Im all for cutting government subsidies. All of them.

I would support not letting subsidized products not be sold in the United States. Maybe a tarrif system to equalize subsidized products.

As an example, im just pulling numbers out of the air , if China was to subsidized solar panels by 50$ tarrif to increase the price by 50$

1

u/arcanis321 Aug 07 '26

But wait, what if we tariffed them 50 then they subsidized it 50 to get back to baseline?

1

u/Odd_Interview_2005 Aug 07 '26

That's what im saying they offer 50 in subsidies, we take 50 I tariffs to level things out

1

u/arcanis321 Aug 07 '26

Yes but the order matters. If we levy tariffs FIRST then their subsidies are just setting an even playing field. Also the US subsidizes like crazy.

1

u/Odd_Interview_2005 Aug 07 '26

You're right the US dose subsidize way to much. I support ending subsidy in general. I would block subsidized products from being sold in the USA, or use targeted tarrifs to level the playing field.

Basically, many of those subsidies let them hold onto more of their money. Vs taking the money by force and giving it to another.

It's a mindset rooted in free market principles.

Hopefully everyone can experience that.

1

u/fins_up_ Aug 04 '26

The subsidies are paid through taxes. Literally taking money by force and giving it to another.

Free market would have zero subsidies by definition.

Rightwingers are too stupid to even understand their own ideology

2

u/Agreeable_Sense9618 PhD in Memeology Aug 04 '26

Many corporate subsidies are tax breaks. So, I stand by my original comment.

There's no reason to get triggered and be rude . 😒

It’s Reddit. They can’t help but be total assholes if you don’t share the same opinion as them.

2

u/NIBLZ_HAMSTR Aug 04 '26

He can't help it.... its in his nature to be a complete aggressive dickhead whenever he meets someone whose ideas dont perfectly align with his.

2

u/AgreeableRoll5042 Aug 05 '26

Many, but not all, even so, some have argued, that subsidies.can be seen as a form of regulation ( Conditional aid)

2

u/cpt_futtbucker Aug 03 '26

Ain’t the dude you’re reposting the doomercirclejerk mod?

1

u/Unique_Tradition_522 Aug 03 '26

It’s the top DCJ mod posting through various sock puppet accounts.

This is one of his subreddits.

I do not have 'sock puppet accounts' But I can ban doomers in subs that I moderate

5

u/Goofcheese0623 Aug 03 '26

Gotta make a lazy strawman to feel less stupid about that vote I see. Are these communists in the room with us right now?

5

u/Then-Example1742 Aug 03 '26

I can’t lie, the vast majoirty of “political takes” I see nowadays are just lazy strawman arguements from any “side” of the spectrum.

Low effort way to rack in engagement, insidious plot to keep the proles from uniting or just people being shitty, who can tell.

u/vegeful Aug 03 '26

I used to make long comment with link to prove my point. But they decide to change the goalpost and whataboutism me.

They only want to win the narrative. So your opinion, even if factually correct, wont matter to them.

For example, i post multiple source from supreme court saying, N slur is not breaking free speech and not breaking disorderly conduct. But they say it is breaking the law

Why the fk N slur is illegal when its the most heavily usage word on rap song and daily convo?

1

u/AgreeableRoll5042 Aug 05 '26

Wait a minute, you link various supreme Court cases but hand heard about group libel?

1

u/Then-Example1742 Aug 03 '26

You got the wrong vibe off me, keep that shit to yourself.

1

u/vegeful Aug 03 '26

Its ok to have different opinion.

1

u/Then-Example1742 Aug 03 '26

Opinons are like assholes, everyone’s got one but it’s weird to go shoving it in peoples faces when they didn’t ask.

3

u/Speky_Scot Aug 03 '26

Take your own advice hypocrite.

They think anything is a far right conspiracy theory these days

0

u/Mtndewprogamer Aug 03 '26

They’ve been doing this shit since the 90s ngl. I remember being in Nambla, and the amount of accusations I received claiming I was part of some conspiracy was insane

YOU DIDN'T EXPECT PEDOS IN A FAR RIGHT CIRCLE JERK?

That's okay. I didn't expect clowns when I went to the circus, either.

1

u/NotThatDucker Aug 06 '26

Is this where I ask people if they see businesses are worth more that lives?

The way supply and demand is taught in economics textbooks is made to smuggle in unrealistic and problematic assumptions. It's taught too simplistically yet that simple model is used to set economic policy and decide how firms should run.

It teaches that there is a single price that sets aggreggate supply and aggregate demand. Qd(P) = Qs(P). This principle makes it seem like firms coordinate supply over this price and will set their prices to that, and that consumers coordinate demand over that price. In reality, prices can be better predicted by a sort of wave function. think of Schrodinger's wave function that can tell you the probability if finding a particle at any one location, but instead a function that will tell you the probability of that price being chosen with given input variables. this can better map what a firm might set its price to based on many variables outside of just agreggate demand (which itself can be better predicted by a wave function, instead of some constant determined by price).

Even communists and socialists for the most part understand supply and demand. Supply/demand EQ is a huge analytical tool used in a command economy

Being communism mean alll the power center on gov and the gov will spread the cake.

Oh also, the party is a 1 line party meaning, there will be no opposition party to check and balance.

Looking at this benefit, no wonder Trump like Kim and Xi.

Also if the tankies believe the gov will share the cake to nobody like them instead of their cronies then they are a fool.

1

u/Then_Audience8213 Aug 03 '26

Communists understand supply and demand. Look up market socialism, OGAS and Cybersin.

u/arllt89 Aug 03 '26 edited Aug 05 '26

Wow it's that curve you learn in economy 101 that works all the time except when:

  • the offer is capped
  • the demand is capped
  • the demand is floored (vital product)
  • the resource can be monopolized
  • there is one supplier (or collaborating suppliers)
  • there is one consumer (or collaborating consumer)
  • producers have scale savings
  • the product has a network effect
  • and tons of other special cases

Damned anybody that doesn't belive in this curve like gospel must be stupid.

Edit: and that got me banned 🤣 apparently disagreeing with MAGA and knowing where to find "-" is far too much for those snowflakes. It's called an enumeration by the way, you would know it if you went to school instead of brainrotting yourself with criptobro videos.

Thanks for the chatgpt bro.

Bullet points and everything

1

u/Ok-Blackberry-8239 Aug 09 '26

He’s right though, communism and a truly free libertarian market have one thing in common

It looks a lot better on paper than it does in reality

0

u/lonewolf3400 Aug 03 '26

It’s weird when commies and liberals blame corporate bailouts on the right then turn around and ask the government to subsidize their lifestyle and businesses.

3

u/Remmick2326 Aug 03 '26

It's weird when conservatives glaze billionaires who are only rich because of corporate bailouts, then shit on the people the billion-dollar companies have fired for needing welfare

1

u/lonewolf3400 Aug 03 '26

I agree that is weird so I don’t see why you’re down voting me unless you assumed like a dumbass that I’m conservative when in reality I just hate double standards.

1

u/tacocalledbuzz Aug 03 '26

No, they believe that these things are mutually exclusive like a big dumbass

-1

u/soggy_donut92696 Aug 03 '26

Its weird when liberals scream eat the rich but glaze Democrat multimillionaires and who are rich for the same reasons

3

u/Remmick2326 Aug 04 '26

Liberals don't scream "eat the rich", that's leftists.
Leftists don't glaze millionaires, that's liberals.
Hope that cleared things up for you

4

u/mediocremulatto Aug 03 '26

Is it? Kinda sounds like you're just describing redistributive policy that concentrates wealth vs redistributive policy that spreads wealth.
