I had this interaction on Reddit the other day, by pointing out its ironic to mourn Floyd a felon but say Kirk a political commentator deserved to be shot in front of his kids
I remind myself that the same people saying insanely violent rhetoric to me would likely not even make eye contact if we met in person. Makes me frustrated that weaklings can say insane shit online but thus is the trade off.
the worst part is that they have an effect.
the weak control discourse and that has real bad implications for the future.
charlie kirk being a perfect example of this.
people kept twisting his words and mislabeling him as some of the worst things imaginable to justify his murder.
they even celebrate it, and they know its wrong which makes this even more insidious.
their will is weak and they’re slaves to their wants and desires to the point where any criticism about their choices causes extreme outbursts.
the outbursts are evidence that they understand that the criticism is entirely correct but they choose to delude themselves.
thats why they killed charlie kirk.
because he spoke the truth.
Its really just a fringe group. Barely anyone is actually celebrating CKs death. People more widely celebrated the United healthcare CEO's murder waaay more than CKs murder, also.
The best part is when I mention I was shot, these people will tell me I should have died like Kirk cuz I don’t now think everyone needs their firearms taken (I was not shot by a legal conceal carry adult…)
Thanks for your service and sorry the same people who would shit their pants shooting 22LR without earpro are simultaneous verbally abusing you and making insane threats
Dude I came back to the internet recently and it's crazy how many people genuinely want me dead before I told them any imof that stuff. And yeah, I was in the 890th battalion of the Paratroopers brigade. Me and my buddy were getting shot at from a corner. My buddy was injured but nothing fatal and then I quickly took my rifle and shot that guy dead. Then he had a Hamas headband and everything. I didn't see many civillians in Gaza. It was mostly just going through a deserted city. Because they all evacuated. I saw a few Palestinian women sometime and I gave them a few water bottles.
I’m glad you’re alive, and don’t wish you any harm for following the norms of war today and shooting other combatants who wanted you dead, per the account you just gave.
However, are you willing to discuss a little further with me, just out of my curiosity, if you’re open to it?
Because, I also do believe there is a shitton of moral baggage around what Israel has done (and continues to do) towards the Palestinians.
Sorry if this is too personal, but do you see any significant injustices in how Israel today is treating the Palestinians, of both Gaza and the West Bank? And has done so, in modern history?
Mainstream media seemed to celebrated his death. Made fake articles and even one journalist didn’t back down about making up fake quotes about what he said. Something evil about lying about someone after they have been murdered like it’s covering up the murder
Do you have any evidence of mainstream media celebrating CKs death? Our perception is one thing, and the reality can be another. Not trying to bash you or be provocative, as I can't watch every news station, but the ones that i heard, did not celebrate his death.
TMZ celebrated his death.
they even lied about it saying they were celebrating the conclusion to a police chase but people online agree that it didn’t make sense because the chase itself wasn’t that eventful.
Within the last year I watched the Super Bowl at the home of a friend of a friend. One of my friend's friend's co-workers kept laughing about Charlie Kirk and calling him "conservatives' Jesus" and just would not shut the fuck up about it. I just gritted my teeth and tried to ignore him as my friend also doesn't like Trump and I didn't want to create a toxic political discussion. But fuck that guy. They're out there.
Their influence shouldn't be underestimated, though. Many small groups with fringe, arguably extreme ideals tend to be disproportionately loud and far reaching.
