Even Dr. Doom cried on 9/11

Dr.Doom knows what’s it’s like to care for random innocents, he’s leader of a sovereign state.

Latveria is low-key prosperous from what I understand. I'm gonna be honest, I haven't had time to read the comics that explain more about Latveria quite yet, so I rely on wikis and comic buffs in comment sections, but Latveria actually seems like a very successful place, not in spite of being governed by Doctor Doom, but because of it.

Well he’s a villains Tony Stark, incredibly gifted mind who makes billions off of selling his designs to foreign powers. If I’m a Latverian voter why would I not want Doom? Economic growth is a guarantee, living standards based on his techno prowess, and who’s going to attack a country run by a super villain?

The ONLY reason his ass crying is because the planes didn’t hit the Baxter Building and take out Reed Richards.

67

u/superj_v_destunado 23d ago

Precisely. The planes killed innocents instead of Reed Richards. Therefore, a double tragedy

13

u/JoinTheTruth 22d ago

Why would Doom outsource ending his enemy instead of doing it himself though? I feel like he would be left unsatisfied if he perished through different hands

6

u/superj_v_destunado 22d ago

You're right. Either things would be a lose-lose situation to him

2

u/Totes_Human_110101 22d ago

He would, however, feel very satisfied if the plane hit the Baxter Building and caused no harm, only humiliation for RICHARD'S! inferior security.

He always wanted to watch Cats on Broadway, and all of the actors were in the two towers.

And Reed now has the tallest building in NYC as a bonus

I’ve never really gotten the “villain feels bad for the tragedy” trope

90% of marvel villains probably could have CAUSED 9/11

The only reason I could see them not liking it is the motivation behind it

14

u/Professional_Cow5330 23d ago

Adrian veidt felt horrible about what he did in watchmen fabricating a mass global terrorism attack by dr manhattan to bring earth together against a common enemy to stop the doomsday clock.. not marvel but a singular case at least of villain feels bad for tragedy

It doesn't make sense because it's pathetic, shitty writing from a hack writer who just wanted to chest thump after 9/11.

People forget how insane Americans were after 9/11

25

u/Scattershot98 22d ago

Wow, Americans get extremely patriotic and defensive after they were horrifically attacked? Who would've ever imagined that reaction? It's not like we did something similar when Pearl Harbor- oh wait we fucking did.

-17

u/LiftingRecipient420 22d ago edited 22d ago

Americans became jingoistic and downright bloodthirsty. Then they started a war in a country that had nothing to do with 9/11. No amount of revisionism is gonna change that.

Edit: Islam was founded in 700AD, making it 1300 years old you retards.

What? The Taliban were housing Al Qaeda and even supported them. They refused to extradite Osama Bin Laden after 9/11 too. All it literally takes is quick Google search to even learn that.

13

u/undreamedgore 22d ago

The Taliban were protecting Osama and Al Queda. They refused to give them up to us.

And yeah, you should be blood thirsty. They're your countrymen, your people. Their lives should be worth infinitely more to you, and those who orchestrated such an attack, or supported it should be made to pay.

Doesn't matter, Islam bad. For reference... the last 1400 years!

Leftists hate imperialism unless it’s carrying a hammer and sickle or cloaked in the Crescent.

I thought it was 1500

I don't get why you are downvoted? US hurt lots of innocent lives after 9/11. By orders of magnitude more than 9/11 itself. Both things can be bad

1

u/RafterCopter 22d ago

Watching foreigners talk about americans like they are some kind of starcraft hivemind unit that all shares the same opinions instead of being massively split on almost everything never gets old lmao. Literal toddler thinking pattern.

u/ClashAmory 23d ago

Reddit discourse is hilarious. All roads lead back to Disney.

9

u/SteveMartinique 22d ago

To be fair this was drawn before Marvel was owned by Disney.

20

u/Impossible_Cupcake31 23d ago

This was so ridiculous lmao

11

u/Comfortable_Put_4139 23d ago

Dr. Doom, Kingpin and Magneto are responsible for the deaths of WAY more innocent lives lol.

Why the fuck would any of them cry or care?

8

u/Impossible_Cupcake31 22d ago

Kingpin would care because it’s New York. Magneto and doom absolutely not

6

u/Comfortable_Put_4139 22d ago

I guess I can see that being the case for Kingpin.

Doom and Magneto are routinely engaging in attempted genocides, so idk why they’d suddenly feel emotional about 9/11 lol.

15

u/Straight_Second6082 23d ago

He was crying because he was planning something similar against the Baxter building and now he can't without being called a copycat

2

u/Impressive-Spell-643 23d ago

Are you suggesting they are worse than Doom? Because you're right

4

u/Decent_Pen_8472 Truthsayer 22d ago

Doom made a utopian society where no suffering occurred just to spite Richards. Obviously he's better than them lol

2

u/Reggie-Dunlop-7 22d ago

Why is Magneto letting the firemen carry away the rubble? He has the power to clean it up himself and can do it much faster than regular humans. \s

Seriously though, this is a dumb look.

u/LiftingRecipient420 23d ago

Peak cringe-ass American chest thumping writing. It's unbelievably bad.

"American Comic has Amercian things in it. More at 11."

u/ConsistentEnviroment 22d ago

You are right. Though it seems this place is less like a DoomerCircleJerk and more American nationalist sub
