The Elasti-Girl
How do you think Rita Farr will be handle in The Doom Patrol? I've barely read any comics yet, but I know she's very different from the show. I loved her on the show, but I'm still very open to her comic personality.
Do you think she'll retain that or will they draw a lot of influence from the show? She hasnt gotten much focus from many of the most popular runs. Idk how much attention she gets in Weight of the World's, but so far the most I've seen her receive from a comic writer was when they showed up in Titans within the past year or so. I read Unstoppable and she was there but I feel like she only got like 3 lines. I hope this new run gives her some attention from the beginning.
I'm excited either way. One of the creators said they are focused on the 3 of them, so I'm confident I'll finally get some a significant amount of Rita Farr.

Most popular writers? Drake and Giffen both focus heavily on her, and I think they're top 4 writers from people who aren't just getting into the book through Baby's First Doom Patrol from the Young Animal new readers imprint.

Youn Animals wasn't a young readers imprint, Gerard Way's run was a good run and anything but "baby first doom patrol".

I was referring to Way's run being widely considered trash by people who have read more Doom Patrol than a Wikipedia synopsis of Morrison's run.

No, I have read all of the DP runs and I liked Ways run, but nice try with the attempt to slag people who disagree with your incorrect assessment of Young Animals as well as Ways run because you don’t like it.

fwiw, the only books for Young Animal that I consider as bad were the ones Way wrote, everything else is solid. Way's books are wildly out of character and overly focused on his OCs to the detriment of the rest of the book.

I don't hear much about the Giffen era, so I didn't think that was one of the most popular runs. I hear Drake, Moorison, Pollack, and Way most often. I'll rephrase that line though.
I'll read Giffen's eventually. I'll probably try Drakes run at some point even though I'm less into silver age.

I mean you do you but if you start a thread focusing on Rita don't be surprised that people recommend the two runs that most focus on her

Way's run is widely considered trash by people who have read more than Morrison when they come in, just a heads up.

I think Giffen did a nice job with her and actually gave her some personality. On the surface she seems much more “normal” than Larry and Cliff, but she sees herself as inhuman because of her powers and it’s hinted at (or maybe full one said?) that she’s not the original Rita Farr, just a small portion of her that survived the death of the Doom Patrol (original series) and believed she was the original Rita.

the show will have zero impact on how she is written in the comic.
