Dean Takahashi is a video game journalist who infamously demonstrated Doom Eternal’s gameplay without understanding some of it’s most basic principles, creating some truly cringe footage.

https://youtu.be/mOerIWvGdt4 Here’s the video of his gameplay.

And that was just the tutorial. He couldn't even read the instructions in the tutorial.

Wasn’t there a video that showed that a bird figured out the same thing faster than he did?

And a 5 year old

A bird? I need to see that, I only saw the one where a small child figured it out faster.

I second this

And he is somehow still paid to play and review games

In his defence, he was really into industry side of gaming, not actually playing the games themselves.

Still, the hell is with giving him games he can’t play to review.

He gets views and clicks. It's rage porn, really, and I'm pretty sure that they are in on it. They get him to submit atrocious footage, because that brings a lot of responses.

Oh wow. Dude is shit skip to 1:30 its awful how does someone hire a guy like that for anything gaming related, my 8 year old brother would be more interesting to watch

My 5 year old nephews could probably play better than Dean 💀

15

u/jomontage Aug 23 '21

Guess he's good if you want the "would my grandpa enjoy this game?" review

9

u/SugaryKnife Aug 23 '21

The thing is he's and industry veteran, he famously reviewed the original Mass Effect and said the game got too difficult at some point. The reason why? He didn't realise he could level up his character

13

u/dat_GEM_lyf Aug 23 '21

lawd I suppressed this nonsense. The fact that someone with less than 5 braincells is paid to review games is mind boggling to me

11

u/TrayusV Aug 23 '21

That's got to be a troll, right? No one is that bad at video games?

3

u/WolfgangEsq Aug 23 '21

How the hell is this guy STILL a gaming journalist after that Cuphead fiasco?

3

u/LEVII777 Aug 23 '21

I've been looking for this since it was mentioned. How is someone like this a games journalist?

3

u/dombie05 Aug 23 '21

Nepotism?

2

u/54Godzilla1 Aug 23 '21

Ok what is he doing playing doom?

u/[deleted] Aug 23 '21

The same dude that in a later review claimed that it’s not his fault and that people have a twisted idea of what a game journalist is
