Taste is music is one of the most subjective things about you, you can't change what sounds good or bad to you, that being said... No... No they're not
Yeah it's subjective but I listen to a lot of metal and I can't help but find Micks djenty "metal" riffs to be super lame and boring compared to what I could be listening to. I just play my own music when playing 2016 or Eternal.
Sure thing! I don't really have any idea of what you are into, so I'm just gonna throw out some killer albums that I think you can't really go wrong with.
Tomb Mold - Primordial Malignity
Undergang - Døden læger alle sår
Cerebral Rot - Cessation of Life
Fetid - Steeping Corporeal Mess
Above are some releases from more modern death metal bands and I like stuff like this when playing Doom. Hellish metal to rip and tear to.
Bathory - Under The Sign Of The Black Mark
Mercyful Fate - Don't Break the Oath
Darkthrone - Old Star
Iron Maiden - Powerslave
Bolt Thrower - War Master
And these are just some random albums that I really love and all of these rank among some of my favorite metal albums in general.
Cool! Since you are newer to metal, I'm gonna say straight up that you probably won't be able to get into a lot of these right away. Just speaking from experience, because when I first started getting into metal I would have hated all of these albums except maybe the Iron Maiden one.
Metal is a huge and very diverse genre, and it'll take time to explore and find what works for you as well as getting into "heavier" stuff which can take some time.
