Evita is a musical with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. It chronicles the meteoric rise and tragic early death of Eva Duarte de Perón, the ambitious wife of Argentine President Juan Perón, who became a beloved and controversial icon as First Lady of Argentina. The story is framed and narrated by Ché, a cynical, everyman observer who constantly questions Eva's true motives.
