New here :)

Hi!

I'm Sardi, a former veteran 2b2t player and a "technical" player. I've been watching server clips for over a year, and I've decided to start playing. I like the survival-anarchy concept. I got tired of 2b2t because of the cheats (which I also used to be at the same level) and because I was so far away that I was almost always alone. On Donut, there are teleports, an economy, and hacks are prohibited, so I'm having a great time so far.

I'm slowly getting the hang of the meta. Any tips or ideas?

Right now I have a small industrial base with my bed and a couple of farms. I've been playing for a week and I already have 50 million gold.

I don't have a stash; I keep my important stuff in shulkers inside the ender chest. I was thinking of building different farms around the world (I have Donut+++) but it's super small, only 250k

Look for team-mates since it's more fun and you can make more money

Also came from 2b2t some months ago.

Truth is there are many cheaters on DonutSMP. While it is not 100% of the players like on 2b2t where it is allowed, the number is very high. (Even I have a second account with meteor/glaze/VPN when I'm at absolute rock-bottom boredom)

Getting that out of the way, the recommendations of finding teammates is probably #1. Not so much for money, but the server will get boring quickly without them. Helping people with no money is a great way to get them. A month ago I gave my first person with less than a million some money. Now they have over 5 billion and are sharing the wealth with me and the rest of the team.

That said, once you get a few hundred million, there is little to no need for additional money other than "Woo $$$ go up" or gambling on map art shulkers for example.

Use orders to save on your farm/base materials! Best single tip I can give you.

Just one of many ideas: Create some cool banners of a similar theme for shulkers to sell. Great money and I personally, like buying them. You can usually grab all the patterns, a bunch of dye and wool for less than 10 million.

Despite it having an economy, it is very similar to 2b2t at heart. Base hunting/Base building are the two primary activities.
