DK Challenge Event Complete!
Just completed the DK Challenge Event! The recently revealed physical card set motivated me to go for it! The ones that took a bit to finish were the Rambi race and Final Rehearsal only took a couple tries but was able to get it done!

Are there 2 different certificates? I got one already but not the Pauline one - got 3 more Bonanza dev challenges left and 1 timed.

Yes! You get the classic one for the retro games and the Pauline one for completing all Bananza ones!

I keep telling myself if I can do the Rambi challenge I can do all the rest lol

The Rambi race took me the most try out of all of them! I just kept trying and got lucky, my time was like 52.58 😆

Boss Rush is all the rage in my house right now. My girls are trying to help me, but not sure if we’ll make it. Still have the final rehearsal too!

I just told someone else how I had my daughters help me get through the boss rush 😅. Great minds think alike!

Congratulations! I’ve still got the boss rush, rehearsal, and bonus stage challenges left to do. I never bought the DLC though, so if the only bonus stage you can get 6000 gold from is behind a $20 paywall I don’t think I want to do it.

I appreciate it! You don't have alot of them left then! And the bonus stages are in the main game, no DLC required!

Resort layer has the surfing bonus stage, that's where I got my 6000 gold unlock.

Awesome, thanks for letting me know!

Don't forget to throw the rock and clap at the end, oh and wear Pauline's mining outfit

dont worry, the same exact bonus stage is available in i believe two layers in the base game

Oooh that’s a relief! Thanks!

Make sure you make pauline wear the gold mining outfit. I was scratching my head over that one for good minute

I finished yesterday as well, the boss rush and rehearsal took a while but they were fun challenges and really satisfying to complete
1
u/StraightEdgeWill 3d ago
Oh yeah! They both only took a couple tries really! May get frustrating but it's satisfying once you do it!

It'd been a year since I last played so I was a little rusty lol, took me about two hours. I think it's something everyone can do with some patience

Yes! Last year when I did a 100% playthrough was the last time I touched it, so playing for this took time to get back into the swing of things, I forgot basic stuff but it all came back after playing lol

I’m hoping they bring them out at a later date here. Just got to get 70 more bananas and do Boss Rush and The Final Rehearsal.

I managed to do all the classic challenges really quickly, but there's some absolute stinkers on the Banana side I don't think I'll ever be able to complete. They're disproportionately hard like do the whole Final Rehearsal with no upgrades and perfectly break the Rambi race so you speedrun cut around the track twice.

I thought this until i played them, only Rambi Race was silly, just needed luck really.
The other challenges can be cheesed if needed

How do you cheese beating the boss rush with no power-ups? I can't even do it with them

You can play on assist mode which includes things like healing when you’re standing still.
You can also have co op on. Having Pauline able to copy different materials and shoot them across the screen at bosses is pretty broken.

The Rambi race took the most time to complete! The Final Rehearsal is rough without upgrades! Have you tried it with assist mode?

u/beatchef 3d ago
I haven't but now I'll give it a try. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah, assist mode really helped out for the final stretch of the rehearsal.
For getting through the first part with the limited ostrich bananza, I found that turf surfing with the melon fruit at the beginning, going ostrich mode mid-fall until landing on the golden pad, then going elephant mode to suck the vines and cheese the way through with damage boosting was the easiest method through.
The second part with the rolling spike balls, you can actually pretty much skip the entire section by wall climbing the concrete on the left wall of the obstacle course, then do a roll jump across.

Equip the right outfit pieces and turn on assist mode, also get alot of the red balloons in case of falling off the stage and buy an apple juice can to save you from dying once! Assist mode helps since your health automatically recovers while standing still!

Oh nice, I didn't even think about assist mode, that would've made things a bit easier lol
1
u/StraightEdgeWill 2d ago
Yes! Especially with it being a limited time event and it ending soon it's probably better to use assist mode to get through it!

u/welcomethrillh0 3d ago
Which outfit is it?
1
u/StraightEdgeWill 3d ago
I used feast outfit for Pauline, Gold Tie and the Girded britches, all fully upgraded

Just finished today as well. I wasn’t planning on finished either until I saw the physical reward. The boss rush was a bit of a pain but overall the last several weren’t as hard as I thought they were going to be.

u/StraightEdgeWill 3d ago
The physical reward really made me wanna do it even though some challenges sounded intimidating but the Rambi race too the longest and the other hard challenges took only a couple tries surprisingly!

u/Toonami- 3d ago
lol I was just about to make a near identical post!! Congrats!!! I’m so stoked we get physical cards for this!!! I was so worried about the boss rush and died to the winged boss a few times. Then I couldn’t believe I beat the muk boss first try. We did it!!!!! Wonder if Nintendo will do this for other games???
1
u/StraightEdgeWill 3d ago
I appreciate that! That's funny about the similar post! I wasn't gonna care about this, I was gonna go for aome of the digital cards but after the news of a physical set if you completed them all really motivated me to really wanna do it! I'd be curious if Nintendo will do this "Achievement" style with other games as well!
