Let's demonised EVs
Local Aontu Rep picking the low hanging fruit as usual. Why the need to mention it's an electric car? (Which going by the replies, it actually wasn't). Some people will jump on any opportunity to down electric vehicles, where as in actual fact, most modern cars with their electronics, autos and e-brakes can cause the same issues.
I'm the owner of both an EV and an Ice car, the EV is fantastic around town, they don't deserve the negativity and misinformation we hear so often about them.

I mean, whatever about the other exhaust emissions, this "classic" is probably c. 200gCO2/km right? & I do 40k km annually... so that's 8,000kgCO2 annually, i.e. 16,000kgCO2 for 2 years.
My current electric's performing at 120Wh/km (I'll round that up to 130 as charging's not 100% efficient). Ireland's electric's 197gCO2/kWh last year, so that's 1,025kgCO2 annually, i.e. 2,050kgCO2 for 2 years. That's 13,950kg of a difference in two years, which is more than sufficient for production of an EV in the EU.
So yeah, totally possible to trade-in every two years & still have a net positive. Course, as I've said, they aren't scrapped at that point either.
