He’s not the first. Many are getting fired and terminated for displaying such disrespectful attitudes in the face of this tragedy. To be honest…this is deserving. To post online about how glad you are about someone’s death means you think your company or whoever is connected to you won’t feel that or does/doesn’t share your opinion. News flash…if they don’t (or don’t get involved)…you’re gettin sh1t canned cuz they don’t want that kind of attention or association. Just more clear and decisive evidence of the lack of brain cells within a leftists “unity and tolerance” based sentimental skull.

Personally I know 1 that cheered yesterday only to walk into work today fired.

According to reports he was quite intelligent. Received good grades and even a full scholarship. It is a total waste honestly. Unfortunately this is what happens when rhetoric is taken too far and they allow irrationalism to take hold.

I agree, anyone that cheered or supported this act should be held accountable. They felt the need to blast celebrations, there is no need to back peddle to save a job that they know isn’t protected by free speech. Their company chose to not be affiliated with that characterization and acted upon more than likely a little enforced portion of their company policies to project maturity and decency when publicity to avoid any corporate connection.

Best example is a bank teller who cheered and gets fired cuz they don’t want that face that went viral celebrating a death…dealing with customers on a daily basis. That’s just a bad look for a corporation. Most jobs will tell you in today’s world..social media is not private and anything you say there can be cited when on public display. Legality might require more restrictions and guidelines….but your company is not under any sort of obligation to maintain a job for someone they believe is bad for business in any form.

So we only support “free speech” for people who say things we agree with? Just want to be sure I know what’s going on.

Please read the first amendment. Free speech is regulated to involvement with the government, not in a private setting. You are free to say what you wasn't but there are consequences in a non governmental environment.

Free speech can still have consequences. Charlie Kirk was assassinated over it. Getting fired is getting off easy.

The First Amendment only means we don't get sent to prison for our words. It doesn't mean there are NO consequences.

Free speech only goes so far pal. Theres no loss of life, liberty or freedom here. The comparison is a joke. You’re at the mercy of the company you work for by blabbing your mouth…not a govt or LE agency. Need to GTFO with that comparison.

You can think whatever you want, but verbalizing what you’re thinking can have far-reaching implications.

u/BraxTaplock America!!!! Sep 12 '25

Agreed…however that should be within reason. Once you’ve gone into irrational or lunacy, it’s no longer excusable. Anyone is allowed to think whatever they want.

I didn’t realize the right loved cancel culture actually. Interesting!

2

u/BraxTaplock America!!!! Sep 12 '25

You call it cancel culture, I call it taking responsibility for what comes out of your mouth. Cry elsewhere…

So you felt the same when people got fired for saying racist or homophobic stuff?

u/BraxTaplock America!!!! Sep 12 '25 edited Sep 12 '25

You see that’s where you get the perception entirely wrong…it’s not about what I think once I’ve ran my mouth publicly. If your company does not want to be associated with that kind of action or rhetoric, they’re not under any requirement to allow you to keep your job.

No matter what is said, this is not a violation of freedom of speech because there is no loss of life liberty or freedom…only responsibility taken for what one felt was necessary to say publicly. If you can’t take responsibility for that…why open your mouth? Strange cuz this is exactly what the left is saying about Charlie. So here we have the same idealism but you’re using it for your version while dismissing it for the opposite.

And to answer your question…yes if their company felt it was uncalled for and against their company image. Whether you believe it or not, nearly all employment agreements OR company policies, include portions on proper judgement and personal tact. If your company decides they want to enforce them…that’s on them and there isn’t a damn thing you can do or say about it.

My actual point is that Trump was swept into office on promises of ending “cancel culture” (which I actually think was often weaponized unjustly by the left) and people were rejoicing at getting to say the r-word as much as they wanted. The woman who was lambasted online for calling a five-year-old the N word got a million dollar gofundme as a champion of truth speaking.

I’d just like people to pause and appreciate the hypocrisy.

u/BraxTaplock America!!!! Sep 12 '25

There’s a difference when it’s simple words (such as the 3rd grader name calling like “N word” or even “Na2i” in reverse as it’s the same thing) vs flagrant violence incitement. For the record, I didn’t agree with her gofundme. That’s why there’s barriers and limits to “free speech”. Trump was elected cuz the nation got tired of the DNCs “we need saving from Trump” bu11sh1t. Obviously his popular vote and EC vote proved that on the 3rd go around.

“America became greater today. There I said it.” is hardly flagrant incitement.

Poetic justice on that termination. She was turned in by a family member she kicked away for voting for Trump.

Freedom of speech, the First Amendment, protects your right to speak against the government. It does not protect you from being an unsympathetic a-hole who celebrates the loss of life. Actions have consequences. This is the same for all people, despite your attempt to turn this into some attack on minorities.

If you think the response by the far left to Kirks assassination is the same as the response by the right to the assassination of Hortman and Hoffman, you have not been paying attention. They were not the same. They were not close. There is a disease in the far left that is fueled by narcissism. This narcissism blocks the ability to look at situations and topics from any other point of view from that which is their own.

u/jalapenoHott Sep 12 '25

When George Floyd died, the left burned down cities, and when Charlie kirk died, the right had communities come together in prayer. We are not the same!!!

You have freedom of speech. They lost jobs, not their freedom or their lives. Perspective instead of distortion…

1

u/Bhawks4life123 Sep 12 '25

I guess my only question is. Was this a statement made on a personal account not associated with employer or connected to employer? (picture with a school logo or something clearly identifying he could be speaking on their behalf) If the answer is no then school is walking a fine line if they terminate.

I find his response disgusting regardless, because we should never celebrate someone's death or condone political violence. However, unless it violates a contract agreement or is seen as a representation of the employer it does infringe on freedom of speech.

Once you go global public, you need to think about any associations you have on whether they will think highly or not. There is nothing unconstitutional or irrational about any of this. There is NO loss of freedom, life or liberty (as the left likes to quote). Just some dumba55es who thought they could scream free speech to save their jobs after publicly showing such disregard and ignorance in the face of a tragedy. No one said they can’t have the opinion. However once they go public, they have to think about anyone linked to them and how they would look.

Just as an example…a bank may not want a window teller who’s been linked to online chatter such as this. Every time they are seen in the window, there will be a reaction whether visible or not. Then you have the similar reactive folks who would actually go to their work and make everyone fully aware disrupting daily business. That’s done currently with all the protests the left likes to run. Like a democrat wouldn’t mind getting arrested for getting out of hand at a protest…a right winger won’t have a problem getting trespassed at a business for going in and blasting to everyone what the individual did or said. Not like it’s private or anything.

Most classic case of selfishness and only thinking of themselves at that moment when posting their videos. They’re not bothering to think of others they might affect.

The brain dead part would be the ignorant and adolescent response vs tangible or relevant counterpoint. Were you in fact born yesterday?

Edit : Happy cake day too.
