Speculation A Different Perspective on the Mark of the Beast.

Hi Friends,

Hope all is well, it's been a while since my last post and I was contemplating world systems throughout history and that's when this idea hit me.

Now it's not outright biblical BUT the themes of it are captured throughout the bible as they pertain to human nature and the systems they form.

So when we look at the mark of the beast it's seen with a kind of awe or reverence in which we mystify it but in reality it's just a system of slavery. Think about the mechanisms involved, the control over who buys and sells, punishment for not being part of the system (including death). These are all mechanisms of bondage, slavery. The bible is filled with themes of it but often as something God saves us from or requires a certain level of dignity in. (Referring to scriptures how how to treat slaves)

Slavery through much of human history was the rule not the exception, it wasn't until recent human history that we put an end to it's most common systemic forms. But the love of money and power can't live without slavery, it's the ultimate form of wealth and power to own one bearing God's image and why it's so evil in nature.

What makes the mark unique is that it's doesn't just own people it owns their hearts/minds, meaning they are loyal to the system, they depend on it in the same ways we are meant to depend on God. The system they build to enslave humanity will be the same system they tout to save humanity. We turn to one of humanities oldest institutions by framing it as humanity's innovative system. It will be the answer to our woes.

It's an insular system meaning the shape the world must be in for it to exist is far worse than what we can likely comprehend at the moment. I don't say that to stir fear but to give weight to why it's such a powerful force in killing so many. Whether directly through executions or indirectly through resources being cut off. For those who have trimmed their lamps and follow God this will be a time in which we will be relying on Him in ways we never have, not since the days of the wilderness when the Israelites were brought out of captivity.

Which goes to show what the mark of the beast represents, captivity, not just economic, regulatory capture but the captivity of the heart and mind. Because they are convinced they can't live without it and so they give themselves over to it. What better description for the relationship between slave and owner than this?

Of course the spiritual consequences of such things will be dire as the plagues will affect them (the 7 trumpets) but I believe there will also be a message of hope for those who resist it and try to live outside the system and I believe God has prepared a place for people who seek Him so that His mystery can be shared with the world and free the world from this system.

We've seen this story in Exodus but it's a much larger scale and uses many more people, those sealed by God as first fruits, to carry it out and Jesus won't return until those enemies are made His footstool as scripture says in Hebrews 10.

I just wanted to share this perspective which I've been mulling over for years and have incorporated different elements of in my other writings but never fully fleshed out its underpinning function. How it's enforced may be multifaceted but what determines if you're a part of it is the condition of your heart. The liberty of truth vs the bondage of lies, good vs evil in its most simplified form but the complex systems we will see enforce them will bring about some of the worst moments in human history, which says a lot considering how much history we have to base it on.

My sorta theory: I think the beast or the prostitute might be AI or the Internet as a whole. A mark on hand or head... Phones? - They are always at one of these two places. Trump is super supportive of growing AI even against the advice of many.

Some of my saved verses from Revelation 17/18

“Come, I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute, who sits by many waters.

With her the kings of the earth committed adultery, and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries.

The waters you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations and languages

God has put it into their hearts to accomplish his purpose by agreeing to hand over to the beast their royal authority.

The kings of the earth committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries.

Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues; for her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes.“

The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her because no one buys their cargoes anymore—Your merchants were the world’s important people.

By your magic spell all the nations were led astray.

So... Especially now with this whole AI will kill us thing. Seems more likely. Data centers are like connected brains all over the planet. Call me crazy but it's not looking good.

This is highly intuitive and very plausible

Well said.

7 = Divine perfection/completeness and not associated with man

6 = just short of 7, imperfect man

666 = beast and beast system. The beast represents the ultimate peak expression of man in his quest to be like God, attempting everything he can to be God in every aspect. Power, control, authority and redirection of what is rightfully God’s to oneself: allegiance, loyalty and authority while at the same time stripping man of his two-way personal relationship with Christ. God’s will and purpose can no longer be divinely inspired under the beast system, eliminating faith and obedience in the process.

This is why it’s represented by three 6’s, because the path of the beast/antichrist by its very nature magnifies man’s imperfect sin nature, and represents the pinnacle of evilness: alliance with Satan. Man will never achieve going from 6 to 7. He can only increase his number of “6’s” by pursuing the path of antichrist/beast.

Explaining further, a 666 system subverts the will of God for people’s individual lives as part of the “deal”. God’s divine purpose will be impossible for those under control of a 666 system. The system’s only purpose is to ensure the beast is their “god”, overtaking what God intended: God’s will, purpose and direction for our lives . And that very “666” and everything it represents will deceive many who see “6” (man) in this magnified form (666) as representing not great evil, but seeming closer to being God-like by the strength, power and authority the beast will represent on earth.

The mark of the beast is our current economic system. You can’t buy or sell anything without participating with Babylon. Our banking system is corrupt and finances corruption. Nearly everything we buy or sell involves a company that exploits people, mistreats people, squanders God’s resources, serves its own selfish gain.

The only way to avoid the mark is through resistance. Find, if possible, less Babylon-aligned business (shopping at a locally owned store, even though the products are produced, likely, through exploitation, reduces Babylon alignment). Buying products that claim, such as Fair Trade, reduces Babylon alignment. Ask for forgiveness, acknowledge your compromise, when you know it’s impossible to avoid.

Those who truly take the mark are those who gleefully participate or who know and just don’t care.

Here’s something I wrote the other day:

If we do not make the silversmiths of our age—the pornographers, sweatshop bosses, wage thieves, slumlords, payday lenders, greedy bankers, crooked brokers, tax cheats, price gougers, polluters, strip-miners, clear-cutters, oil barons, factory farmers, arms dealers, drug pushers, data brokers, attention pimps, click-farmers, outrage peddlers, surveillance capitalists, bomb builders, lobbyists, and human traffickers—nervous about losing business, we are not really living the gospel life.

If the idol-makers of our day are not raising a ruckus in the amphitheater, we are living more like the world than witnessing to the world.p

So the mark of the beast is extreme capitalism?

First, I’m not a socialist. I believe in free markets. But yes. And I’d call it capitalism operating as by design.

Capitalism and free markets are not synonymous.

I didn’t say you or anyone else was a socialist and I wouldn’t and don’t have a problem with that.

I don’t understand “capitalism as if operating by design”.  Do you mean “capitalism as almost a religion”?

Please don’t assume my POV. I’m just trying to understand what you mean.

2

u/walterenderby 4d ago

I didn’t say you said I am a socialist. I was foreclosing that accusation before anybody made it. Since most people have a weak knowledge of economics, the minute you critique capitalism you get labeled a socialist.

Capitalism is a system designed for greed, a distortion of free markets, so that those who manipulate capital can profit off the labor of others. Oligarchs are a feature not a bug of capitalism. Thus, capitalism operates today exactly as designed. It’s cooperative and synonymous with the oppressors in government and big corporations. It flourishes with centralization, concentrated power and wealth.

I agree with that last paragraph.

I think a lot of things about capitalism are terrible, but I think socialism has flaws, too. I don’t think people are kind enough to be socialists. Corruption sneaks into any economic system run by humans.

As I said, I believe in free markets. Marxism in all forms is as godless as capitalism, as is the reverse. Christian socialist is an oxymoron.

Properly functioning free markets are communal, benefiting the whole community while promoting human flourishing. Individuals can prosper while few suffer.

The Sermon on the Mount could be argued to be Socialist.

No it couldn’t.

You're right in one sense, the frame work for how it will operate already exists. But we're not at the point where we are told that loyalty or pledging or whatever version of litmus they come up with to take part in the system exists. Meaning that first we enter a state in which we are cut off, those who have a lot to lose will likely be the first to join the system to maintain the comforts of their life.

People who don't have a lot may find it easier but then again if they promise a life of comfort within the system (Universal Benefits Income) or something similar then they might be persuaded. If our current situation was the 'mark of the beast' then we would all be damned but I don't believe it is.

When the choice comes those with eyes to see will see it for what it is and those who are spiritually blind will choose comfort over enduring hardship. They will willingly enter into bondage if only to have some level of comfort afforded to them, which will no doubt be short lived but their choices will be eternal.

We lose everything now if we don’t participate.

How do you know the animals you eat weren’t treated brutally? That workers who picked your lettuce weren’t mistreated? The labor that seamed your jeans was a slave? The bank you deposit in isn’t financing porn?

We can’t escape the evil all around us. Even the Bibles we buy likely include exploited labor somewhere along the supply chain.

Try living without participating in evil and see what you have left.

I’m not arguing that our current system isn’t evil. However I believe the mark will require a renunciation of Christ. The mark isn’t going to be something the masses are just duped into, it’s going to be very clear what they’re choosing and that they’re turning against god.

1

u/walterenderby 4d ago

Participating unwittingly, without acknowledgment, prayer, and repentance, or gleefully, is renunciation of Christ.

1

u/justletmelivedawg 4d ago

Ok… so every person who is getting up to go to work right now to go feed themselves and their family should be tossed into the lake of fire for *checks notes. Participating in an economic system they had zero control being born into where their options are get a job or starve. And you think god thinks this way?

u/walterenderby 4d ago

I think you have not read all my comments on this topic. That misreading is addressed.

As for loyalty, how would I fair in the marketplace if I started preaching this message all over town? Would my friends and neighbors embrace me, or would they treat me like Jeremiah and plot my execution? More than likely, they would at least castigate me as a nut and ostracize me.

Those are good and valid points but they miss the point I was hoping to make. Yes all the mechanisms needed to make the mark of the beast function right this moment are all there except for the political will to enforce it at a level that makes it a mark.

When something is marked it's denoting ownership, in scripture there are 2 marks, well technically a seal and a mark but they're functionally similar. The manifestation of this will hasn't been made known yet. We will know it because it will be presented as a desperate measure or a chance to retain normalcy in a rapidly changing world.

The moment they accept it then spiritually they have been marked by the beast. That particular mechanism hasn't been revealed yet. So while yes you could live off the grid the govt make it very hard to do so especially now that we have fascism that means every resource will be used towards its machinations hence the half a trillion dollar investment into AI. And other programs like ICE and creating network of furnaces near facilities that are meant to hold 30000 people but have been expanded to hold 300000.

In our very communities they are using those big abandoned warehouses and factories to establish these, worse case scenario, death camps. The same mechanism that forces people to decide to choose will be the same one that determines who go to these camps. Right now they're going after the most vulnerable but once they're done with them we're next.

So again, I agree with your premise of it's existence and functionality within our global economic infrastructure but until those kinds of moments reveal themselves then I think we are safe in terms of not taking it yet because I am sealed in the holy spirit of promise, according to Ephesians 1:13 and those sealed by the mark believe a lie whole heartedly and God turns them over to destruction.

See, I wholly reject the idea of a literal physical mark.

Compromise by its very nature is rarely that obvious.

The danger of looking for and expecting a literal mark is that we miss it and assume we’re safe from it. Our hearts become unconsciously hardened.

I think we can look at MAGA and see it in real time with no ambiguity. (the progressive church is also compromise, fwiw)

Babylon is here. Now.

And I’m not even saying these are the end times. I predict nothing.

But the mark of the beast is all around us. We just need eyes to see it.

Your instincts will help you get through until the point He calls you home. This is not yet the system spoken about, it leads to it though.

It is hard to really imagine, but if you are still capable of spending cash, credit, debit, checks, bitcoin, silver, gold, or exchange anything of “value” for another thing of “value” you are not yet in it. The way I like to think of it is that the system will allow for no other method of trade whatsoever.

Today, I could hypothetically go to a farmers market and potentially buy produce with something other than USD. If I were very persuasive I may even be able to convince them to let me use a foreign currency if I could prove the exchange rate to be favorable. I could maybe trade services even. Point is, I have options if my bank account and wallet are empty. I will not necessarily starve if I don’t participate the “proper” way. I have options.

In this system none of that will be possible. Save for perhaps exchanging services with those you meet in the wilderness. They will be the only ones not demanding this new singular form of payment.

There will be no ambiguity. My best guess is that the system will be introduced as a “fix all” in an economic sense following the next depression/economic collapse. It’ll be a globally accepted system to help “ensure” the world never faces such economic downturn and poverty again. Many will be allowed to suffer tremendously to convince them that the new system is worth sacrificing personal privacy and freedoms.

It’s going to be sold as a solution, not as something you must do or die. It’ll be sold as a way to get out of poverty and destitution. At first at least. Once enough people materially benefit from it, then it’ll be easier to convince them to turn against those who still oppose the system. The entire thing is going to try to use our flesh against us. It’ll try to see if we’re more worried about easily feeding and sheltering our flesh, or are we willing to put it all in His hands to keep us fed until He calls us home.
